Hello everyone,
It is L here. Well yesterday I was pretty productive for running on no sleep. I managed to get a good bit of cleaning done and some paperwork. Than I enjoyed a nice evening with some wine and the movie “Twilight”. For some reason I was in the mood to watch it I guess it is because my sis sent me the link to the “New Moon” movie trailer and it got me all excited for it to come out!!!!!!
My dinner was a lovely veggie salad on my mixed green onion bread! And a swiss chard salad and later on RAW ICE CREAM!
More on that in a few.
This dinner sure did hit the spot for me!I chopped up some swiss chard leaves and cut up an avocado for the topping. Drizzled my sandwich and salad with some lime juice and hemp seed oil, and of course some nutritional yeast! Not all the toppings would fit so I just turned the remaining swiss chard and avocado into a little side salad.

So good.
My bottle of wine. My favorite kind.

Dessert was a little spur of the moment kind of creation. Michelle and I have been playing around with different raw ice cream recipes. And I felt like trying to perfect one of them.
Ingredients: lucuma powder, agave nectar, coconut oil and butter (the brand we get offers to different things- their coconut butter is the meat plus the oil), vanilla bean, and water
Final product after it is set in freezer for at least an hour or so. I forgot to take a picture of it last night because I was just so excited hungry to eat it!!!! But I had some leftover and took a picture today.

Let me just say I really enjoyed my meals yesterday and I am feeling pretty good this Sunday morning. I plan to do 6 miles today at the gym. Therefore I started my day with a green smoothie to help give me the energy I needed.
apples, green kale, cilantro, lemon, turmeric, cayenne, stevia
Pre-Workout Snack:
Two brownie bites (one plain and one lavender) and 1 slice of new pre-workout bar (new recipe)
Workout:
- 10 minutes of easy jog – pace 5.8
- Next 20 minutes – 3:1 (run 3/ walk 1)
- Pace was 6.1 for running and 4.1 for walking
- Next 30 minutes moved up to pace 6.2 for running and stayed at 4.1 for walking.
- Cool down – walk for 5 mintues
Today’s run was a really good one for me. I felt great running and was actually mentally focused. Must of been from a great pre-workout snack! It settled nicely in the tummy and gave me the energy I needed to run!
Post-workout juice:
beet, cucumber, red kale, pears
About 30 minutes later I made a vega protein shake with a few additional ingredients to give it a boost to help body recovery from my run…
My ingredients:

My delicious and satisfying drink

I am feeling great after my long run today.
I’ve been busy today cleaned the whole house, did some emails, and now off to the store. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday afternoon!!!
Till next time, from my glass to yours

Hi Lori, I am new to sayin hi to you, but have been commenting on your blog on Michelle’s stuff…anyway, that Vega stuff…they sent me that, and I like protein shakes, and I could not roll with that stuff…do you like it or was it an acquired taste? Way too dirty and gritty for me.
I also make ice cream (vegan of course) in my vitamix. Basically Gena’s banana softserve that I tweak w/ a little almond milk. Ive never had lucuma and dont even know what it is.
Your brownie bite and granola bar look great; I made raw vegan brownies too with dates, cocoa, walnuts, agave. Mine are more gloppy and runny and yours looks more dry…and really good, can I have one?
Hello Averie, Glad you are following both us on our journey! Though Michelle’s journey is a little bit more exciting them mine. LOL> Vega to me taste alright plain – I prefer it mixed with coconut water or blended up in a smoothie. So I guess if you are eating it plain than maybe it is an acquired taste. I just prefer that as one of my main protein sources because of the ingredients that is in it. I believe in all those ingredients and that there is stevia to sweeten it not sugar. And I found my body likes this one the best. It digest the best! Lucuma is another low-glycemic sugar and good source of iron and many other vitamins/minerals. I try to get different varieties of low-glycemic sugars like lucuma, yacon, agave nectar, and stevia into my diet (but I typically always use stevia). Is your brownies on your site? I would love to see them, they sound good ( I would love to give you some of ours!!)
