Looks like yoga was the answer for both twins

Good evening everyone

Sorry I did not get my post up sooner my schedule for today was not my usual. Although it was a great day for me!

First I began my day at 6am at 105 degrees helping Kelly (the head pastry chef) make some raw desserts. I made 5 different flavor raw ice creams : ) Nothing like sampling raw ice cream first thing in the morning!

Today in class we began with this

IMG_9836Ah want a great start to the morning…RAW DESSERTS.

We made the chocolate malt filling for the tarts we made yesterday and made the whip cream

IMG_9839Set them in the fridge to set…but I did have a few licks : ) before chilling them for later!

Next up was spices…we each created our own blend

IMG_9842I chose 6 spices and these are ones I normal use in my kitchen, my favs: cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and cayenne, I also added a new spice that I do not use a lot but liked the aroma garam masala.  I cannot wait to use it!

Then we made the filling for tomorrows tamales

Lunch was blue corn tostada with avocado, yellow squash, tomatoes, orange pepper sauce and queso blanco

So good…light and refreshing not heavy like traditional tostadas : )

IMG_9859Isn’t it beautiful…all the vibrant colors??

Kombucha tea time

IMG_9846Time to drain the goodies I put in yesterday

IMG_9864I love the pink color it got from the raspberries and goji berries. It smelled wonderful. I enjoyed a small glass..perfection!

Back to our chocolate malted tarts

IMG_9866

Time to put the whipped cream on top

IMG_9881Not time to eat them yet….because today we had a great guest speaker come in and talk with us about organic farming and the importance of recycling…giving back to the soil!

IMG_9885

Thank you Kathy for taking the time to talk with us! I loved it! We need more farmers like you : ) Note: Please support your local farmers!! This really made me miss all the farmers I work closely with back in NC : ( Hope they are all doing well!

Okay now time to eat my raw dessert

IMG_9887I was in heaven…I love chocolate. I sure had a great day of goodies first raw ice cream and now raw chocolate malted tart : )

Since I worked with Kelly (THANK YOU KELLY, I had fun) early this morning I did not make it to the gym. Instead Gina and I had another wonderful yoga session at the Yoga Room with Laura. Again meet some great people with some familiar faces…the energy in the room was great. I felt like a new person when I left! I truly love this place!!

Before I headed back to the hotel I got myself a green juice at 105degrees.  The juice was full of kale, spinach, apple, and orange!

IMG_9891Well this was full of a green juice….it was very good. Perfect way to replenish after a great workout!

Okay well I am starting to get hungry so have a great evening!

Till next time,

Michelle

I so not want you mean about all the pretty colours. I was just talking about this to a friend of mine recently (who is vegan and a new convert to raw). I was telling her that when I starting changing to this way of eating I began to notice how much the vibrant colours and appearnce of fruits and veggies started to turn me on. It made me wonder if that is the way we are born (like animals in nature, knowing what to eat and when) and we lose our way because the SAD diet junks up our intuition?? This is probably another reason why I just love looking at inspiring blogs like yours…

I am sooo keen to get this class you have NO IDEA!!!

Yes I agree growing up on the SAD diet people do not know what real food taste like. Their stomachs never have had nutrient dense food. It is funny to watch people’s expression when you show them a raw dish and then let them eat it : ) Priceless!! They are always surprised how good it is, that they can taste everything…not masked in heavy syrups, dairy, and artificial flavors! They are actually content on one or two bites….yay for raw foods!
