Last day of 7 day cleanse

by Lori and Michelle on October 14, 2009

Hey everyone,

Wow is it really 7pm already? Where did the day go. I feel like today just flew by… did that happen to any of you? Do you ever have those days when you are on the go and -non-stop the whole day long and that you feel productive though you really didn’t get that much done? Um. That is what today felt like.

First off I want you to bare with me during this short post. I will do a better re-cap of our whole cleanse tomorrow. Today is just one of those days.

After getting 5 hours of sleep it was time to get back in the kitchen to bake for a Breast Cancer Charity event at one of the local colleges here in town. There was over 500 people at the event! Yay for rising money for charity! Anyways we baked some of our Twin Cakes Bakery goodies: mini chocolate cupcakes, chocolate chai cupcakes, chocolate chocolate chip cookies and chocolate banana muffins (all were gluten free, vegan, soy free, corn free, and low-glycemic) . We also brought some raw carob macaroons (one of my favorites), chocolate macaroons, and chocolate truffles. As you can tell the theme of this charity event was CHOCOLATE!

Here is an overview of what we brought!

Here we are working hard :) So hard to resist not eating any of it

And this little girl stole the whole show… isn’t she precious?

Well we did have a late breakfast…. green smoothie, before heading out. We managed to remember to grab some water to take with us to the event. Though since we were in such a hurry we did not bring anything for lunch :( So we had to wait to eat 6 hours later! Although it didn’t really hit us that we were hungry until we were in the car heading home.

So to satisfy us we ended up having a few samples that were leftover from the event… opps  well hey we were hungry and after smelling all different types of chocolate we were desperate!

Here is the evidence

IMG_0737We each had one carob macaroon, one chocolate banana muffin and split a chocolate chai cupcake! All were delicious and hit the spot for us!

When we got back to the house we finally got to make a smoothie!

Michelle enjoying her smoothie – she did most of the talking at the event – she was thirsty.

Now we are not too happy with how our last day of our cleanse went. First off we did not do great planning because we did not even think to bring a smoothie with us to the event nor did we actually drink a lot of water today. Plus we did not get a juice in today : ( And we had a few “snacks” that were not on the cleanse program! We are trying not to get upset over it and just move on. Though we are still hoping for a better last day with our cleanse. We did not do enemas this morning (we have to start “training” our colon to start working again on its own).

We did manage to squeeze in some yoga this evening. If you have not tried this out yet it is a leg and ab burner just ask Stephanie. :) We are very proud of ourselves for doing it because we both were not feeling up to it. (We were tired). But we did it any ways and now feel much better!

I will do a better re-cap of how we are feeling mentally and physically tomorrow. And with what we plan to do after our cleanse.

Till next time,

Lori and Michelle

Oh true that! That yoga sesh makes my thighs and abs BURNNNNNN (in a good way of course!) :) looks like you ladies had a fun day and those chocolate treats look fabulous! I think ya’ll did great on the cleanse, I don’t think most people would have that kind of willpower and you should be proud of yourselves no matter how today went :)

Good job girls!

I could never been a baker. I’d gain so much weight.

I can see why you ended up having a few snacks that were not on the program. I can’t resist raw sweets, and those cupcakes are so cute. You know I love cupcakes :-)

I just wanted to thank you two for posting your cleansing journey! I have done three Master Cleanses, but I have not done any cleanses with enemas/colonics/lots of juicing, so it’s great to read about it. I hope to do one soon. Can’t wait to read your recap!

For all the food prep you do I think you guys did amazing, I did a 10 day master cleanse once and it was torture, more mental than anything, though it’s not as good as a green cleanse it helps me refocus!

Your goodies for the event looked delicious!

Getting the motivation to do any sort of exercise is ALWAYS the hardest part, but 9/10 you’re going to feel better afterward. Good for you!!

Don’t beat yourself up over the last day of the cleanse. Luckily there is no cleanse police and you’ll just learn from your experience. For next time (cleanse or not) when you’re doing a big event you’ll remember to plan ahead and bring food/water to have throughout the day.

Thanks Jessica. Yes enemas and colonics are great additions for cleanses.
