Spring water to the rescue

by Lori and Michelle on October 10, 2009

Hey everyone

We did end up having a smoothie last night (around 9 pm or so), it was full of blueberries, bok choy, lemon…we each got about 20 oz. Both felt pretty good after drinking it!

We did have some “food” yesterday…due to making things for the farmers market like frostings, spreads, we had to try just a little to taste…although this made us start to crave food but we manage to resistant. :)

I opened all 6 coconuts (remember my coconut opening skills) I got yesterday from the store so we had fresh coconut water to drink today at the market…which really sustained both of us all morning.

It was hard to wake up this morning due to getting only 3 hours of sleep…oh the life of a baker! We both were a little hungry so we had one small apple and hand full of bee pollen. By the time we got back from the market we were starving so we quickly threw some blueberries, stevia, and a green (I got from a farmer today although I do not remember what kind it was…a mix of dandelion and bok choy or something).

Then it was off to get some natural spring water…our first time. We have watched some of Daniel Vitalis YouTube videos and then Anthony talked about spring water during his presentation at 105 degrees. So Lori and I were determined to get us some, especially now during our cleanse!

We had a long drive so we split a cocktail kombucha tea. Yes I refer to it as my cocktail…I just love the zing it gives me : )

We finally found the spring…after having to stop to ask the locals for help (we got a little lost), we had no idea where it was.

Here we go

IMG_0580We only have little water bottles…yes some plastic and glass…we ordered some bigger bottles so next trip we can really stock up

IMG_0585Lately we have really been trying to eat and drink things from glass…just feel so much better about it, one because it is better for the environment, and two we just feel “cleaner.”

Taste test

IMG_0590DELICIOUS…so clean and fresh

We both shared one bottle on the drive home…hey trying to savor it ; )

Both were hungry when we got back so made us a quick chia pudding…needed something to “fill” us up

IMG_0595A mix of spring water, chia powder, maca, and drizzled in some yacon syrup. yes we know this was not on the plan of meals but we both were getting mentally hungry so this helped sway some of our cravings..so we feel it was worth it then!

Also both of us are feeling very tired today that we are not working out, which is hard for us sometimes but we are honoring the body!!

We have received some emails about water…. I tried researching water and reverse osmosis sense that is what I tried yesterday. Now I have to admit I was not finding much research on reverse osmosis water.

But reverse osmosis water had pros and cons, like everything does, so I feel it comes down to personal preference. What is important to you when you chose the water your drink? Drinking tap water you get some-what natural water that has some minerals but also has a high chance of being contaminated. Bottle water has been treated and shipped all over the world to get to you, so it really is dead water. Reverse osmosis water has been treated to remove contaminants that could be harmful to you, but you also lose the minerals and alkalizing effect of the water.

As we have learned natural spring water is the best. But again it is your personal preference on what feels “safe” to you. I must say I was really excited about trying spring water because after hearing what Daniel Vitalis says about it and makes me wonder, why not drink the best water? Check out the many videos Daniel has on spring water, here is another link.

Here is what we got out of his videos:

  • water that comes from the earth is pure, fresh living water
  • spring water is different from the water that comes from your tap or filtered water
  • water from natural springs has been through the best filtration on earth called hydrologic cycle …more info here on the hydrological cycle
  • water is such a unique substance because comes in all 3 phases: liquid, solid, gas
  • water is made up of  energy, matter, and has a shape..pretty cool huh?

As Daniel would say, “all bottled water is cooked water.” Our bodies are about 75% water, so when you drink water it goes directly into you blood.  What type of water do you want in your blood? Daniel said it perfectly…bottled water is just like processed food…though many people do not think of it that way.

What if you don’t have access to fresh spring water:

Live is a journey, you try things and you transition as you aim to reach your goal. First enjoy your life now (meaning enjoy who you are and the food you eat), next would be to start re-thinking your water! First try to drink water out of a bottle, then try different filtration systems, and then eventually go to natural spring water. Now we are not planning on going every week to get this water…it is just something we are using to supplement out raw foods diet.  And we are not saying we will never drink out of a bottled water again or drink from the tap! At the moment this is what we are trying and we will see where it takes us!

Daniel mentioned it took him years to drink just spring water…so there is no pressure that you must do it now. Take you time, go with your body, and enjoy the journey!

If you give it a try, let us know your experience!!

Well time to go find some motivation to do work.

Till next time,

Michelle and Lori

Curious if you’re still getting water from this spring. I live in Raleigh and am wondering if it’s worth the trek. Any other springs that you know if in the area?

Hello Ben, no we are not living in the area anymore so not getting water there. We did love it though. And we are not aware of any other spring water nearby.
