Random thoughts and eats

by Lori and Michelle on November 28, 2009

Hello everyone,

Can you believe Thanksgiving is already over and now onto Christmas? Last night we went looking at Christmas trees though we ended not buying one yet. Plan to get one before we leave :)

Must say our eats these past few days have not been too exciting. There has been a mix of:

green smoothies

CIMG7789

raw sauerkraut nutritional yeast sandwich (check out our friend Elizabeth who has great tips on making this new obsession of ours)

CIMG7797

Raw avocado key lime pudding

CIMG7806

Sauteed spiced apples with coconut oil

CIMG7792

Raw chia spirulina pudding topped with cacao nibs

CIMG7778

And some no pictured items we have enjoyed are leftovers from our thanksgiving dinner so our plates looked pretty much the same. It was really weird having leftovers because we typically do not have leftovers. We usually eat everything that we make that day! We have had some kombucha tea (got the family hooked on these instead of soda : ) ) and a mix of our raw crackers and flat breads (we are obsessed with these that we eat them constantly it feels like).

Also while we have been home it has been a little bit more difficult to get into the workout groove. :( We have done a little bit of exercise each day though nothing like we were up in North Carolina. We have not figured out why we get in this non-motivating mood while home… maybe it is from being home we feel we can be more lazy? Or that since we are not running around like crazy with orders, etc we can take it more easy here? Grrrr…. need to find our happy medium while being home.

Does that ever happen to you when you go home? That you have all this motivation beforehand but once you get home you loose it all?

Side Note: You might have been noticing some changes on our blog… we finally had the time to start changing our blog design and information. There is still more to come though!! Slow progress ;) Please bare with us, being home our focus is sometimes elsewhere (plus our first time blogging during the holidays).

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful holiday as we are…we will share a very yummy recipe  tomorrow : )

Till next time,

The Twins

I was wondering how you guys ate when you go home. Your Thanksgiving plates looked amazing. The raw zucchini pecan hash and the cheezecake both sounded heavenly. Glad there were no fights and do not worry about taking some time off from exercise. You two sound so busy all the time. Maybe your bodies needed some R & R. Enjoy every minute of it!

Thanks Heather! Yes we are enjoying the down time, just trying not to feel guilty.

Your welcome Elizabeth, your sauerkraut looked yummy. We are working on tips to stay motivated to workout when traveling, especially during holidays, although it is tough.

Yum, that sauerkraut sandwich looks so good. I like anything with nutritional yeast on it! Key lime avocado pudding sounds amazing. :)

I love your blog! This is my first time visiting :) I just tried nutritional yeast out this weekend – on kale chips. I was very pleasantly surprised! The name doesn’t exactly scream delicious, haha.

I am glad you found us Paige! Yes nutritional yeast’s name does not do it justice.

The Raw avocado key lime pudding looks awesome! I make a “chocolate mousse” I have called it on my blog that’s the same thing, just avo, cocoa powder, agave, blend. So easy, so good. I bet w/ limes it would be awesome!

Your blog changes look great, and yes slowly but surely is the way with layout stuff. It all takes forever!

Traveling and working out is hard. I always do some yoga and always figure I am walking/moving about and just keep it at that. And get back into things harder core back in my own surroundings.

Oh I totally feel ya on the workout slump haha, and I didn’t even go anywhere?! I think it’s something about finally “stopping” and your body gets into relaxation mode and other things just become more important (i.e. family time, holiday cooking!)… I find that I actually workout more when I am “go-go-go busy” for some reason, totally weird right? On another note, you intrigue me with this avocado key lime pudding!!! Per usual, bc your recipes always amaze me :)

I just got home today, and I’m already feeling the laziness kicking in!! I’m giving myself the day off today, and hopefully I’ll get back in the workout groove tomorrow…

Your avocado key lime pudding looks awesome! I tried making it once, but mine didn’t look as pretty as yours– still tasted good, though! :)
