Hello everyone,
I am back in the States…. Canada was a good time! The wedding was great and the weather was perfect for our trip. It was actually warm for this time of year.
First I want to say we were in a rush a lot of the time so I did not get to take a lot of pictures of everything and since my camera is not the best… some pictures are not the greatest :/ Sorry in advance.
Our weekend started with Michelle taking Gary and I to the airport bright and early Saturday morning. A quick connection in Baltimore (had only 30 minutes till our next flight) no time for food… luckily when I travel I bring my own food… wait what am I talking about I always bring my own food!
Finally arrived in Buffalo, NY to rent our car and drive over the border to head on into Canada. The drive was not bad we got to Guelph in about 2 hours. The border patrol was not bad…only took about 5 minutes. Though the line to come back into the states was another story…more on the later.
We got to our hotel, quickly checked-in!
Here is the lovely room we stayed in… hotel was really nice! Too bad we were only going to be there for the weekend.
We had only about an hour before the wedding and Gary wanted something to eat. So, we went out to grab some lunch. Our friend who was getting married dad owns and runs a bakery there in town so that is where we went for lunch.
Luckily it was right up the street from the hotel!
Gary in front of all the delicious looking pastries… I convinced him to get a cannoli!
Than headed back to the hotel to get dressed and head to the church! I did not get any good pictures of the church outside though it was beautiful.
Here are some pictures of the church and wedding ceremonial.
The Groom
Here comes the lovely bride
Check out the wheels for the bride and groom’s
Some group pictures after the wedding… such a beautiful spot
From left to right: Paul ( a close friend from college and teammate of Gary and the groom) and the Groom’s brother and Gary!
Now time for the party to begin – we had about an hour before the shuttle left the hotel to take us all to the reception… so what did we do…
Stopped at the local beer and wine store of course. Gary and Paul wanted to check out the beer stores… and to try a local beer as I waited to enjoy wine at the reception… what a good girl I am
Hanged out in our hotel room till it was time to head to reception.
Then it was time to party eat! We were starving. Due to traveling and running around with not a lot of time to eat… I just snacked all day on macaroons, lemon cookies, onion breads and crackers all that Michelle and I made before I headed out of town
Smart thinking!
The reception was beautiful…almost magical. In was old house that was turned into a banquet hall, so it dedicated to hosting events. (Sorry for the poor pictures, it was dark)
Check out the open bar
And the food stations
First Sushi!!
My plate…Spicy Tuna and California Roll (I think)
Both were good, spicy tuna was a little too spicy but I enjoyed both. I now this is not raw nor vegan but I was starving and there was not much else for me to eat.
Station 2 was stir fry
Don’t you just love the take away boxes : )
My plate
Mix of veggies: mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, and peppers…I also got some caramelized onions, which I got from the meat station (the 3rd station) but I do not eat meat but they had toppings and I love onions!!
The Wedding Cake…you know I was excited to see this ; )
Stunning! Simple and elegant.
Here is the dessert table…I did not have any, cannot eat them!
Red Velvet Cake plus some Italian dessert do not remember the name plus a coffee bar at the end with fresh cappuccino, lattes, and coffee.
My friend Paul got a cappuccino
I had one too many of these
Those Canadians sure know how to drink ; )
We shut the place down, there to 1am!!
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Stocco
The first dance
Paul, Matt (the groom), and Gary
The groom and my boyfriend : ) Best buds.

Me and Ashley, the gorgeous bride
The boys with the bride!
It was a great night!!
Sunday morning was a little rough, but so worth it. I love weddings, don’t you?
Before we left Canada we had to try the famous and well-know Tim Hortons
This is my first coffee I have had on almost a year…yikes
Probably not the best thing for me to have after being so dehydrated already, but I had to try it.
My opinion: Everyone comes Tim Horton’s Starbucks and I do not mean to offend anyone but I did not find anything speculator about it. It was just a good cup of coffee. And it did make me crave coffee again, which is a good thing : ), I only had a few sips.
Then it was time to get back in the car and drive back to the States, and waiting in line to cross the border was no picnic : ( We waited for about an hour. The guy even searched our car, I guess we looked questionable.
We made it through and then we dropped our friend Paul off at the airport. And then we went to Niagara Falls. My first time…. Gary’s second!
Breathtaking not me the water fall! Wow did I do my hair…haha…hello comb!
Ok… we both are looking a little run down about now. We left the falls and headed back to airport to fly home!!!!
Got in around 10pm and hit the sack as soon as we got home.
Overall great short trip…. I do want to go back to Canada so I can see and do more touristy things.
Though this morning Michelle made me a lovely green smoothie…. I missed these!
Time to go workout…. should be interesting
Later we will be talking about some exciting things we have planned for this week ahead…. can’t wait to share with you all!
Till next time,
Lori
