The joy of health food stores

Hello everyone,

Here is to another week…for us vacation : ) We have not been up to anything special, sorry we live boring lives, just usually in the kitchen making goodies for the family to enjoy.

We made a raw key lime cheesecake for our dad because he loves key lime plus he pulled a bunch of fresh limes of his lime tree. So we thought it would be nice to make him something with them, plus nothing beats fresh limes right off the tree.

He loved it, now he says he eats RAW : )

We also have been making a lot of yummy green smoothies for everyone to be enjoying while we are home. Everyone wants a Vita-mix for Christmas    We will be posting some of these yummy green smoothies soon.

But we wanted to share with your today that we love health food stores. Even in lovely small Fort Myers there is a small health food store that we are able to go and buy things like nutritional yeast, raw nuts and seeds, agave, and most importanly they offer Kombucha teas and Raw Sauerkraut!!! Yes!! Sorry these little things excite us, we just love going to all types of grocery stores : )

We just think it is so exciting that more and more health food stores are opening up in all areas of the world. Everyone deserves to shop for there favorite things conveniently in their own home town. I know there are a lot of online stores, but sometimes it is fun to be able to go to a store and actually buy things you can eat : ) Do not forget to support your small local stores!!

Last night we made a delicious raw dinner featuring another one of our favorites: KELP NOODLES

Everyone was curious about this, so we sample dand all seemed to like it. Or so they say, LOL> The sauce was real simple: zucchini, tahini, nutritional yeast, olive oil, and basil.

Tonight’s dinner we are making a raw tostada. Lori and I have made a few of these before, plus I made one at school. So I wanted to make one for the family, although the “tortilla” is a new recipe,  so we will see.

Have a great evening…we get our Christmas tree tonight, so we are getting all the Christmas decorations out!  And for all of you who have contacted us we wanted to let you know we have not forgotten just have not really been on the computer much, but we will get caught up this week. Thanks!
