Not your average dinner table topic

by Lori and Michelle on December 7, 2009

Hello friends,

Keep those lovely comments coming for our first giveaway :) Love them all!

For the past few nights both Michelle and I have not been sleeping that well. We are not sure why??? We know one reason might be is that we are freezing. I have not turned on my heat yet…. trying to wait as long as possible before turning it on! I guess from living with my boyfriend an environmentalist is rubbing off on me ;)

As we mentioned before we are doing a Candida base meal plan for at least the next 3 weeks. So yes that means no holiday parties for us :( My good friend and nutritionist Gena recommended me to try it and gave me a few additional ‘supplements’ to take while doing it.

  • One being probiotic (which I do anyway so I am good there)
  • Second take Candex (helps break down the cell walls that the yeast feeds off of)
  • Third take Oil of Oregano (has many benefits but for me it’s digestive issues )

In addition I will take L-Glutamine and Pau D’Arco. I am not typically a fan of supplements (I like my body to heal on its own through proper nutrition) though I do realize sometimes supplements can help make a difference in your healing!  They are just supplementing me as I get better. ; )

So I have purchased these items and now ready to move forward!

All day yesterday and this morning Michelle and I have only had pumpkin seed milk with stevia and maca stirred in.

Why are we drinking just pumpkin seed milk and nothing else?

Well, pumpkin seeds have been known to help slow down, basically paralyze the worms/parasites that are inside of me! And than by getting a colonic done helps flush all the nasty creatures worms/parasites ;) Or you could do any form of laxative you like to help flush your system! I did this now because I thought this would be a great way to jump start my candida regimen. Parasites and yeast overgrowth go pretty much hand and hand, both feed off bad bacteria so  you lose good bacteria, which can lead to  many health problems.

Pumpkin seeds have a history of being a remedy for worms.  Intestinal parasites can live in our bodies for years without causing any symptoms but when they do they can cause a variety like nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, etc. How do parasites get into our bodies? Entry into body through contaminated food or drinks, poor hygienic conditions, etc. Now pumpkin seeds are just one natural remedy to help with these intestinal parasites others remedies are garlic, papaya seeds, and carrot.

*Sorry not the most pleasant dinner discussion, but we talk about a lot of weird things over here ; 0

And today we had another round of colonics – perfecting timing on our end ;) Though I wish we could have done the pumpkin seed milk for one more day but one day is better than none!

I must say this combination really hit the spot for both of us. Though due to not having a lot of “calories” are energy level has decreased a little bit. We did manage to walk for 30 minutes uphill yesterday at the gym and today we did about 20 minutes of yoga!

After our colonics we did enjoy some homemade kombucha, sauerkraut (store bought because our homemade one is still fermenting) topped with hemp seeds, Udo Oil 3-6-9 blend and turmeric

IMG_2175I know this might not sound to pleasing to some but it actually was delicious! We were both surprised! Yum! Our tummies love all this fermented foods especially after a colonic.

And later on we enjoyed avocado soup

Just made this up tonight by throwing ingredients we had on hand. It was a mixture of avocado, water, lemon, garlic, ginger, cilantro and rosemary. Not bad…. very simple. No real flavor though… need to work on this recipe again. Michelle liked it more than me!

I will end with that. Tomorrow we will share a more outlined plan of attack. I think we have out done our GROSS, unpleasant, unusual topic. Now I know you will be dreaming of parasites tonight, LOL!

Ok time to get in the kitchen and get some raw onion breads and crackers going in the dehydrator ….

Till next time,

The Twins
