Baby it is cold outside
Hey luvs,
Boy was it a cold morning here in NC. 26 degrees to be exact when we work up at 6am.
You may be thinking why would we get up so early…in the cold??
The plan was to run outside one last time before our marathon next weekend.
Our pre-workout snack: We ate this 30 minutes before working out.
I proudly present you - Black sludge
This was seriously yummy!!!! You could never tell by the look of it, but it totally hit the spot.
Also made our own sports drink
Very addicting : ) Again please do not judge by the way it looks!
Then it was time to get dressed.
Oh what to wear when it is below 30??? Kept reminding myself I can do this…the cold will not slow me down!
Well Lori and I got dressed in our layers. Angela would have been proud. : )
Layer 1:
I was testing out my new arm warmers from NIKE (I bought them when we were down in Orlando for Thanksgiving) LOVE THEM!!!

Layer 2:
Love my Under Armour long sleeve shirt…this is the one I wore in my first marathon.
Layer 3:
Do I look hot or what??
HAHAHA!! Don’t you just love my Park City Ear Warmers that I wear for skiing??
I look like a big goof, but hey it keeps me warm….well normally I would be fine, but like I said it was below 30 outside!!!!
Lori and I did make the attempt, but it was freezing!! We ran for only 15 minutes…both our fingers were burning, our faces were frozen, our ankles and feet numb. Not fun : /
We came home warmed up a little in front of our space heater as we debated if we should go put more layers on or just go to the gym…..
We went to the gym.
Happily sat in the sauna for 10 minutes to warm up : ) Then tackeled a fast 3 mile run on the treadmill followed by 20 minutes of up hill walking.
We both felt amazing!! Felt wonderful to get a good workout in. Neither one of us worked out while over Christmas.
Here is a quick overview of our past workouts:
Last week:
Monday: 30 minutes yoga and core exercises
Tuesday – Saturday – relaxed…enjoyed the break : )
Sunday – 2 hour walk outside…the sun was out and we had a lot to catch up on!!
Monday – about 45 minutes of Bosu Ball, jump roping, push-ups, core exercises, and cleaned the whole house
Tuesday – 45 minutes yoga and core exercises
Wednesday (TODAY) – attempted 2 hour run that turned into a quick 3 mile run with 20 minutes of up hill walking
So now you all are up-to-date with our workouts and over these next few days we will let you know what we do for workouts as the countdown till our marathon begins
11 days to Disney Marathon
Till next time,

It was 28 degrees down here at 8 this morning! And my heat is out. I shivered ALL night long. Props to you two for getting out and braving the conditions!

Sounds like your exercise is right back on track ladies – applause (like I had any doubts
)! I can’t wait to get back in the routine either, with all this being sick and holiday stuff I feel so out of wack I tell ya! Love the layered look, you look so official
And I agree, 26 degrees would be my serious limit too… almost feels like you can’t breathe out there when it’s that cold! Good choice to come indoors and still do more of your workout, you ladies are awesome and I hope you are staying warmmmmm
