Twins Candida Cleanse Update

by Lori and Michelle on December 29, 2009

Hey everyone

Are you all excited for New Years??

I personally have no big plans, plus Michelle hates this holiday. She has never really had a great news year and frankly sees no real point to it. Gosh what a party pooper…LOL sis!

Anyways I wanted to give you all recap of how both of us are doing our candida cleanse.  Before Christmas our cleanse was going well but than the travels and holiday time kicked in.

For me, I did not get my green smoothies. My breakfast was fresh apples, grapefruit, and berries. Then the rest of the day I would eat some raw onion breads, salads, avocados, chia puddings, and some Vega shakes.  And yes I treated myself to some dessert, hey it was Christmas, I had some macaroons that we sweetened with stevia and dates.

Michelle did have her green smoothies, wilted salads, and roasted veggies while she was home for the holidays. She also treated herself to some macaroons and chocolate chip cookies.

So both of us were not 100% perfect though we did out best while being away during the holidays. Yesterday and today we are slowly getting back on track with our usual eating habits. Sure feels good to be back in my routine. : )

What is my plan now?

I still plan on following my candida cleanse food plan for a little bit longer, although Michelle plans not to be as strict. We have realized we have similar issues just not the same!

Overall our meal plan is going to be filled with a mix of green smoothies, wilted salads, kelp noodles, chia pudding, avocados, sauerkraut, and fermented veggies…that is a good mix of food : ) We do plan to keep it simple!

I still want to experiment with having cooked food. I plan on having a cooked grain (quinoa, millet, amaranth) a few times a week.  Michelle has noticed having occasionally roasted veggies does not seem to bother as she thought, so when cold weather creeps in we might have a cooked meal.

We will continue to update on how we are doing and share some of what we are eating.

Michelle and I are not really sure where our food habits are going, all we know is we are going to be trying out more fermented foods/drinks. : )

HUMM…Speaking of fermented foods we bought a bunch of coconuts that we need to go open and make some raw yogurt!!

Till next time,

The Twins

You know, I’m glad to hear you weren’t “perfect” over the holidays. What defines food perfection anyway? ;-) You girls are doing great!

Hmm, I need to learn to make raw yogurt. That sounds wonderful!

Hey Lovey, no big plans for us either. My brother in law and his fiance are going to come over, we might get a bite, then hang out here. I am going to make a raw pie! :) All of your snacks are gone by the way! YUM!!! Triple YUM! Soooo good! Thanks again!

WEll keep us posted b/c it’s sooo interesting to me that you two may be slightly steering away from raw and onto a little diff path. Life is one big experiment and you have to keep on trying things, dont you!

Wow, you two were definitely dedicated over Christmas! That takes a lot of self discipline. I commend both of you! Thanks for sharing your cleanse update! I’m curious to know if you two are seeing a difference in your “symptoms.”

Hey girls!!

Sorry to be off comments for a while. I was happy to read about your progress! I think that cooked foods are 100% OK (for you both) and like to hear that you’re identifying the slight distinctions in your bodies.

Merry belated Christmas!
