Ok so you see we have made kelp noodles a lot on our blog. We just can’t seem to get enough of them. We typically have them every Sunday night! It is one meal that I always look forward too
What are kelp noodles?
First off the brand wet is the Sea Tangle Noodle Company! Love their kelp noodles. We buy them off of Natural Zing. Though I think there are other online stores that sell them. I have not seen them in stores yet!
They are entirely made from seaweed! Kelp noodles are carb-free, wheat-free, gluten-free, grain-free and very low calorie!!! You don’t find many noodles that are free of those things and still taste great and so good for you too
I know many of you be be thinking why would I eat kelp noodles? Well, I can say that these noodles are filling and full of trace minerals, like calcium, iron, and iodine. They also offer the broadest range of minerals of any food, containing virtually all the minerals found in the ocean – the same minerals that are found in human blood. And alkalizing as well! Bonus!
And another great bonus about these fantastic noodles is that there is no cooking required! Yes, you heard me right no cooking required!!! You just rinse and eat! Though they do not have much flavor on their own so I do recommend making a sauce to go over them!
Ok time for the recipe!

Thanks for the details! I’ve never tried kelp noodles and I am a pasta junkie but I don’t love how it makes me feel, so this looks like an awesome compromise! I’m going to look for them in the grocery and if not, order online.

Cool…I looked at their list of vendors, and one of them is a place we always visit when we are at my in-laws. I’ll have to pick some up next time we are there!

Christine, we have never seen kelp noodles at WHF, I am going to have to look next time I am there. Natural zing so far seems to have great prices and we buy a lot at one time to last us awhile!

I used to eat kelp noodles all the time, until I became pregnant with Hayden. They made me so sick (actually it was the morning sickness, but it is difficult to make the distinction at the time). I need to try them again.

I’ve been meaning to try these so I think I shall! There’s a salad I make that uses angel hair pasta but I had been wondering if kelp noodles would serve as a good replacement for a more raw version. I guess I will just have to experiment.
Thanks for review and info! All of those dishes look super good, esp the creamy hemp basil.

Hihorosie, I think the kelp noodles would work great for your salad as a replacement for angel hair pasta!
Sounds yummy!
