Hello luvs,
Sorry that I have been out of touch lately. Getting internet access is not always the easiest to do over here. Glad to see that everyone enjoyed the fabulous market in Barcelona. It really is a cool place!
Now for our dinner that evening was special for Gary because he loves seafood paella. Therefore we were on a hunt to find the best place for seafood paella in Barcelona. After doing some research we finally found a restaurant that was known for its paella. We walked towards the area where this restaurant was located but it did not open till 8pm so we went to a cute little cafe/bar area right on the water and had a few cocktails!
It was a cute outdoor seating cafe. It was a little cute old but the drinks helped
Gary finally got his sangria. He loves sangria. I am not really too much of a fan because it is a tad too sweet for me. I got a glass of white wine.
Time for dinner. Can Majo was the restaurant that got great reviews for its paella.
Had a cute outdoor seating area with heaters!
Restaurant was right on the water as well.
I was happy to have the heat from the heaters!!!
Got ourselves a lovely bottle of red wine. I love how you can get a inexpensive bottle of wine over here and taste amazing!!
Our view at dinner. One thing that I have noticed here in Barcelona is how active everyone is here. There were a ton of people running/exercising! It was so great to see that! Though this did make me feel guilty because I have not worked out since I have been overseas here on my vacation. I feel bad about it but I just do not have the energy because of a few reasons a) I am not eating my normal eats and b) we walk for over 5 hours everyday and stand a lot. Therefore I do not have the energy to get going. I know it happens while traveling but I am looking forward to working out again when I get back to the States!!
What do you do when you travel? Do you workout out or just take the time off from working out? If you do not workout do you feel guilty about not working out?
Dinner time! I got a got cheese salad to start because Gary and I were splitting the seafood paella. At majority of the restaurants here there is a minimum of 2 persons for paella. And I know he did not want the vegetarian paella so I said I would split it with him.
Besides having corn on the salad it was delicious!
So colorful and the goat cheese was fantastic.
Gary enjoying his seafood paella
I just picked out the seafood and gave it to him!
Here is my paella after having picked out the seafood. It was the best paella that I have yet!!!
Gary’s plate with all the seafood. I am so smart
Gary really enjoyed his seafood paella. Flavors as amazing so light yet full of flavor!!!
Look at the pan they bring it out in!
And dessert was homemade chocolate truffles. They were heavenly! Rich and chocolately!!!!
Perfect dinner and evening!
How do you go about finding restaurants? Do you search online or just walk around till you find something? Are you a person who rates restaurants? When you pick out a restaurant to go go by rating, food options, price, or location?
For me I go by food options and locations. Gary like to go by price than ratings. With my trip so far the restaurants we have gone to have been a mix of all of them. Some have been rated high and others we went by food options! Price has been an issue as well we try not to go to the most expensive places either, we are on a budget while traveling over here
Stayed tuned for more great eats in Barcelona plus my all time favorite thing to eat so far here in Spain.
Till next time,
Lori

So I stopped by to see what you were up to in your travels Lori… because I started to think about this icelandic volcano nonsense and realized that might affect you… it looks like you are sticking around for a while, so that’s good. Hopefully it will all be over by the time you fly back.
Don’t feel bad about not workin’ out! I mean, you ARE working out, walking five hours every day. Walking is a workout!
hey fartygirl, yes the volcano eruption has caused some traveling hardships for some, lucky though I have not been affected yet. I fly out on Tuesday so I hope it is all clear by than.
fingers crossed. it is crazy to think about though isn’t?
Oh all these trip pics are amazing.
Per the Brendan B and protein info, his serving size and all that…thank you for telling me that in my comments. And for getting caught up on my posts
As for working out on trips, girl, you are walking 5 hours a day??! That’s a workout in and of itself. Seriously, I would not be doing anything else eihter other than some very light yoga streching b/c otherwise my hammies and legs and hips get tight and the yoga keeps them loose, but not hardcore or anything
Thanks Averie, yes there is a lot of walking going on here
I do miss yoga and look forward to getting back into it when I get back!
Just catching up on your amazing posts! I love these thoughtful travel recaps, hon.
Thanks Gena! It has been interesting over here with my eats and such. I have been doing my best to stay sane and eat somewhat normal, it can be a challenge over here
I like to get a few runs in while on vacation…it helps to keep me feeling energized! I love how quaint and cozy European restaurants are. Isn’t it crazy that in Spain they don’t even start SERVING dinner until 8?! What a different culture! When we travel, we generally have a mix of pre-planned and spontaneous meals. There’s way too many places to try to lock yourself in! Enjoy the rest of your trip love!!
Thanks Gabriela! I love the feel of restaurants over here as well, so different and such fun! We have been enjoying our time.
wow Looks like you are having an amazing time!!! Those truffles for dessert look amazing!!!!
I like to go on urbanspoon.com to find places to eat and see how they rank! When my fiance and I do travel we do research for great places to eat!!!
