One year anniversary Giveaway

by Lori and Michelle on June 25, 2010

Since today is our blog’s – One Year Anniversary – we wanted to re-do our blog design but due to some business changes we had to re-think everything (so our re-design is put on hold). But we did finally made a facebook page for Pure2Raw (so please become a friend and keep up-to-date with what is happening with us)!

It is fun for us to look back at some of our first posts…to see our blog’s journey (and our personal life’s journey) from one year ago. For some great laughs check out our first two post :)   Michelle and I have learned so much from blogging! We are so grateful to have so many great blogging friends and readers! And we are deeply honored for your support and we hope to continue our friendship for many years to come :)

Moving on to some of our eats.

Yesterday’s dinner was a version of our avocado pudding though this time we added in some irish moss :)

june 2010 p2r blog 815 My version with some yacon syrup on top :)

I wanted it simple since my tummy still was not feeling the best.

june 2010 p2r blog 824 Love the texture irish moss provides puddings!

june 2010 p2r blog 827Michelle’s version – she added some vega protein powder (something Heather would approve)!

A little bit later, once my tummy started to feel better, I enjoyed a new raw cookie we created.

june 2010 p2r blog 812Delicious and the cookie is based out of stevia :)

As Michelle mentioned we did not workout this morning in order to give my body some rest. I have been feeling better today :)

I ended up eating simple smoothie for breakfast. A good friend and client of ours dropped off some fresh figs! So that is what we made our smoothie out of!

june 2010 p2r blog 845Love fresh figs. Gary has never had a fresh fig before (I know crazy) and he tried one and loved them :)

june 2010 p2r blog 853Nothing beats fresh figs!!!! What is there not to love?!?!

june 2010 p2r blog 855 Just want the doctor ordered ;) Michelle and I both sat outside to enjoy this refreshing smoothie!

Did you sit outside today?

june 2010 p2r blog 828

Dinner tonight is a lovely salad topped with some quinoa mac and cheese :)

june 2010 p2r blog 836Michelle showing off her hair cut ;)

Yay! I absolutely love the sun! Living in Europe (particularly Germany) has taught me to really appreciate it when it’s out. :)

Congrats on the blog! I’ve really enjoyed reading it and learning new things (along with ya’ll) about hormones, body functions and DELICIOUS foods.
I do like the sun, it makes me feel happy and alive. I don’t like to just lay out in it so much…..I get restless and it gets pretty hot. I also worry alittle about skin cancer, growing up in FL.

happy happy blog birthday! I ADORE THE SUN! it fuels me-both indirectly and directly. Eating a plant-based diet we get all the nutrients thanks to good ol’ sun. And sitting in the sun, and watching the sun rise/set refreshes me everyday! <3

Most of my sun interactions involve a heafty lathering of sunscreen! But I definitely love watching sunrises and sunsets.

I love the sun – the vitamin D it gives and the healthy nutrients it provides my plants. Of course I still wear my shades and SPF, but I think I’d be so blue if I didn’t get my sunlight. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway, happy blog-iversary!

Mmmm figs! Delicious. Happy anniversary!
I ADORE the sun! My name means “tree” and I’ve always thought that I needed the sun to make me grow and feel strong – little did I know that I really do! I think it’s amazing that the body+the sun naturally synthesize vitamin D, which helps make you happy! It makes all kinds of sense. I love to be in the sun, all day every day. And I love it when it gets HOT!

oh “i love the sun” is an understatement… after a winter in Boston, being back in California is like being reunited with a LONG-LOST LOVER… i would be clinically depressed without the sun!!!

I love the sun because my Irish descent gives me pale skin, so the sun helps by giving me some much needed color!

I love the Sun and love to sit in my lawn chair with a cool drink and maybe a book. Ahhh. I miss the sun because it is too rare most of the year in Seattle. I live in the wrong city! Seriously! Trying to move actually.

I will be away but this is one giveaway I did NOT want to miss. So if I win please email or DM me! bittofraw@gmail.com

I love the sun because it makes everything good to eat grow and gives our bodies vitamin D. Nothing cheers me up more than being out in the beautiful sunshine. My sweet little yorkie Benny loves the sun too and wants to be outside with me all the time.

Ah, LOVE fresh figs. Michelle, cute haircut! It reminds me that I need my hair cut too, haha.

I love the sun for my Vitamin D, but not for sunburns! Sometimes having fair skin is a burden, haha…

Reply

Natalie June 29, 2010 at 9:08 am

I realllly love the sun because the way it feels on your skin. Sometimes when I’m inside my house and the air conditioning is on, it gets SUPER chilly and just running out into the sun for 5 minutes warms me back up. Not to mention the benefits of Vitamin D and the effects it has on lifting your mood! Without the sun, we wouldn’t be able to live on this planet! Yay for sun! :)
