Welcome to Recipe Friday!
Hey Luvs,
Michelle and I wanted to announce something new we are going to try here on our blog. Every Friday we plan to share a recipe. Now we still will probably share recipes throughout the week here and there but Friday we will try to do something fun
First up for our first Recipe Friday is a recipe we have already made on the blog before and have seen some of our favorite gals make it at home too
But this time around we pulled out our Vita-mix and made it a little different! Plus we did a video of me making the recipe! I hope you all enjoy it!
Without further due…here is the video. *note: this video was shot while we were home in Florida
Pure2Raw Twins: Changes for our Original Chocolate Cream Cake
- used 2 cups soaked cashews instead of cashew butter
- used maple syrup instead of agave nectar
- added in 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp cardamom for a new flavor
- made it crust-less
Sorry for the bad picture, we were a little impatient to let it come to room temperature.
Lori enjoying her gluten-free dairy-free soy-free living chocolate cream cake. The flavors of chocolate with cinnamon and cardamom were perfect!! To die for ; )
Ok now go out there and treat yourself to a delicious guilt free gluten-free dairy-free dessert! It is easy to make and taste HEAVENLY! Great for those who love rich chocolate for dessert
So what do you think of our new idea for Fridays? Do you like the idea of Recipe Friday?
What type of recipes would you like us to show? Do like to have videos of us making some of the recipes?
If you make any of our recipes remember to send them to us at twins at pure2raw.com and we will share your pictures here on our blog
Michelle and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are busy here baking away in the kitchen making some gluten-free vegan treats for our farmers markets tomorrow!
Till next time,
Lori

Ashley, thanks, we like to jazz it up ever once in awhile for something different. I think you will like it!
I’ve been dying to know how to make these!!! It makes sense-cashews and coconut oil keeps it hard. You guys are cutes.

The cake looks real good!
I would like to see a vegan dessert recipe that doesn’t use cocoa powder, nuts, or avocadoes (because my body can’t digest them.) It’s really hard to find something that’s a raw dessert that doesn’t use any of these products!
Miho, thanks for sharing, we have a nut ice cream, here http://www.pure2raw.com/2009/11/we-all-scream-fo-ice-cream/ It contains no chocolate or avocados. : ) Hope this helps!
This looks wonderful! I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for sharing something yummy and simple for us to make! Can’t wait to see future posts!
Thank you Nikki!! Hope you enjoy the cake!
I love the idea of recipe friday (since i tend to experiment in the kitchen on weekends). Looking forward to your delicious ideas!
Thanks Carrie, we hope we help to inspire you in the kitchen
Hi Twins!
This cake is fabulous! I made it last week for my boyfriend and he couldn’t believe all the healthy ingredients it was made with… he thought I was a genius and I told him it wasn’t me
One question- do you think it would work in a food processor instead of Vita mix? I have both but there was so much wasted at the bottom of the vita that I couldnt get out! It was so sad to rise it away. I have a 14 cup cuisinart so am thinking about making it this weekend in that. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Melissa so glad you and your BF enjoyed the cake! It a favorite for many
I say try it in the food processor, the only thing is I am not sure how whipped and creamy it will get compared to Vitamix, but it might. So give it a shot!
Is there a substitute for coconut oil? We’re allergic to coconut, well, and chocolate too, but I figured I could leave that out and add vanilla beans.
Thanks!
Kristy
Kristy – you can use cacao butter (melted) instead of coconut oil and reduce it by 2 tbsp and for the cocoa you may need to up the cashews a little to make up for the missing volume
