A sweet drink

by Lori and Michelle on August 3, 2010

Hello luvs,

Thanks for everyone’s support on us sharing our past issue with an eating disorder. We are always blown away from all the support and friendships we have made through blogging!!

We wanted to share something fun we created the other day. We were munching on some local figs along side drinking our homemade kombucha, we thought these go well together.

We present you….

Pure2raw recipe: Fig Kombucha

Ingredients:

2 cups kombucha

about 4-5 figs

Blend in blender!

We do not normally like our kombucha’s sweet, but we actually really enjoyed this, it was a nice change!

I’m totally loving this post today- And the recipe! Woah. I want one so bad!!! I need to bust out my “mother” on reserve in the fridge and make some more kombucha and try this.. I wonder if the starter is still good… hmmm.

But really, that looks fantastic!

Thanks Lori! I think your starter should still be fine. It might just need to ferment a few days longer than normal. :)

Kombucha…you know me, I like everything a little sweet and sometimes I put a drop of juice in my booch or a squirt of agave, i bet the blended figs would be great! or blending medjools too. I just hate dirtying up my vita for that LOL so i keep it super simple and half the time i just drink it straight up.

your last post…thank you for sharing your story and being so open. Honestly, I am not that surprised about it just b/c over the past what nearly year? of reading your posts, of knowing you two, using some “reading between the lines”…I always wondered if there were any past issues but never asked b/c it’s none of my biz! I am so happy for you that you are in such a better place now AND that you had the courage to share this with everyone!

xoxo

Averie – we too most of the time drink our kombucha straight up ; ) And thank you for your friendship!! It has meant so much to us to have your support. We are in a better place, although not perfect, but better.

Thanks Lisa, yes and our client of ours grows her own figs and she just dropped some off!! So excited now ;) Love fresh figs!

Wooooooooooooooooooow I want this. Now debating whether I go buy some figs or, you know, just wait for mine to grow and ripen. I’m pretty sure I have to go buy some. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but ever since I started fermenting my own kombucha I’ve been trying to think of ways to use it. This is fab!

This sounds so good. I just had my first-ever drink of kombucha two days ago. Not as scary as I had been imagining.
