Hello friends,
Well I am back in Raleigh with the sis getting ready for our weekend farmers markets
plus going over a million business ideas.
Last night I had my first blogger meet-up with the Charlotte group! The group met at Luna’s Living Kitchen which is a great restaurant for some one like me
The restaurant menu was based around raw living foods and majority of everything is gluten free!
I was excited to try this place out! And it did not disappoint!
I ordered the zucchini pasta with a mushroom sauce.
One thing that I just love about raw living foods is how colorful and vibrant everything looks. You just know what you are about to eat is going to make you feel alive and glowing! Almost too pretty to eat
Love this meal! It was so light and refreshing and full of flavor! I am usually not a huge fan of mushrooms but this dish really hit the spot for me
It is sooooo nice being able to go to a restaurant with friends and not have to worry about anything. Am I going to get sick from this? How am I going to feel? What is in the food?
I didn’t have to worry and I really could just enjoy the food! What an amazing feeling!!
Borrowed picture from Caitlin
Group was Caitlin, Megan, Lauren, Megan, Emma, Cindi, Jessie (not in picture) and me! Great group of ladies!!
After dinner most of us went to a local pub to get some drinks and chat.
I got a glass of Savignon Blanc, one of my favorite white wines.
After some drinks we walked over to Yoforia to grab some yogurt. I did not get any since dairy and me do not get along! But everyone else really enjoyed their yogurts. All and all it was a great night I am really looking forward to spending more time with these lovely ladies
Next morning I made Gary a green smoothie (all week long I made him smoothies for breakfast and he loved them all, yay!)
Hemp vanilla milk, hemp protein, spinach, frozen banana, strawberries and mango
After dropping Gary off at work I went back to the place to pack up and make my green smoothie for the road.
Apples, frozen local peaches, collard greens, basil, lemon, ginger, cardamom, chia seeds, coconut oil, sunflower lecithin
Perfect road trip companions in my opinion
Upon arriving the sis sliced up some fresh watermelon from a local farmer and we sat on porch to get our Vitamin D as we devoured the plate
After a quick little snack we ran some errands and came back to workout
Had a local peach before working out
Workout: 25 minutes of high intensity at home workout (again we will share our new workout soon)
Afterwards I was craving Vega and that is what I had
I just scooped some Vega protein powder into a cup and stirred with water (yes there is a junk of powder at end of spoon guess I did not mix that well )
Till next time,
Lori

What a fun sounding night! The raw zucchini looks so tasty!
two of my favorite things….gluten free and sauvignon blanc. What a great night with friends!
Lindsay, looks like we have some things in common
I’m so happy we got to meet! And I agree, Luna’s was wonderful. Glad you made it back safely to Raleigh!
Thanks Megan!! It was a pleasure finally meeting you too
What an amazing meet up! Such lovely ladies
I absolutely love finding restaurants where you don’t have to worry about the ingredients – although they are far and few between, I’m so happy to hear you found one! xoxo
Looks like a delicious evening – all those vibrant, happy faces. The idea of being able to go to a restaurant and not worry is almost unimaginable to me (been a few years since I lived in the Bay Area, haha) but what a wonderful blessing.
And so you go back home and back into another vibrant swing of things – you go!
love
Ela
Thanks Ela! It is hard to believe that there are restaurants out there for people like us to really eat at and enjoy ourselves, hopefully more and more continue to open
Awww what a beautiful bunch of radiant girlies
Wow, that meal looks amazing. You are right – so vibrant!
“sooooo nice being able to go to a restaurant with friends and not have to worry about anything”—yeah that NEVER happens for me unless I am eating at home and I made it. Truly, what an amazing restaurant in Charlotte of all places, Im thinking San Fran or NYC..but Charlotte..how awesome! But most of all, Im sure you had an amzing time w/ all the other ladies just chatting it up. And wine. I love that you had a glass of wine and posted about it. Bloggers are human, we drink, raw foodies drink wine sometimes too…amen for being real
Averie you are the best, but I think you already know that!! And yes I am human and like to drink wine!
HAHA
oh my goodness everything in this post looks like everything i want to eat. i love it!!
i know i am belated, but I just wanted to say congrats on the newspaper mention. when you have your own business those kinds of things are HUGE so hurrah!!!
looks like you had a great time with the group! those food pics are stellar. and i heart vega, though i’ve never had it as a pudding. should def. try that because it seems like you guys work out with the same intensity I do.
have you ever done taebo? billy blanks? lol, i have taken a longgg break but I am getting back into it again. how did you find the intensity series for abs? does it make you leaner?
What a fun blogger meet up! I’d love to meet you both!
Now I have to go cut up my watermelon because yours looked so good in that picture. Have a great day!
Aww thanks Nicole. We would love to meet you as well!!! HUGS
Ah, I’m so jealous of your blog meetup! How fun! I wish (WISH) I could have another meetup- I’ve only had one- but it’s so great to connect with other health/foodie bloggers.
Soon…. soon…
