Foodbuzz challenge: Ready,set, blog

A while back we received an email from Foodbuzz about a contest.

Contest? huh?

We have done a challenge before…

We debated… and debated… and decided to give this one a try too! Here we are presenting our first challenge.

“Why should we be the next Foodbuzz star? What makes our blog unique?”

Our journey for food started young like most chefs ;)

We learned from our grandparents, parents, sisters, friends. Coming from an Italian/German/Swiss among others heritages food was in our blood. We learned about all different types of food, tastes, and palates to please.

As we developed our taste our bodies started to change. We have shared our health issues many times here on the blog before…so as we learned certain foods did not agree with us… a new door of culinary delights opened.

A few years ago we fell in love with living raw foods and ever since than our life has never been the same.

We are not your average food bloggers nor do we eat the typical eats most others do. We are different and we are ok with being different :)   We look at food different.

Kabocha Guacamole

Suffering from stomach, digestion issues, and food sensitivities we had to re-learn not only to love food again but to re-learn how to bake again with different ingredients.

We approach food different than most

We might not take the best pictures

We might make mistakes

Unsuccessful socca wrap

We might make a disaster in the kitchen but turn it into a masterpiece

We might use unique ingredients

But to us being in the kitchen is our class room!

Our place to be different.

On our blog we use food to express who we are and how beautiful and nourishing food can be.

How do we keep it pure?

We are gluten free raw vegan chefs – to some chefs or bakers this may seem like a tragedy but to us it has the been a blessing!

Went to culinary school to learn more about this new passion of ours!

We run our own gluten-free vegan bakery, Twin Cakes Bakery ( a life dream of ours). We honestly love making food for others…our true passion!

Girlies! You are amazing. What a great post. I’ll definately be voting for you guys as you inspire me in the kitchen on many days a week. Also I am keen to know why you drink out of a mason jar with a glass straw…any particular benefits, as I drink my green smoothies daily too..and would love to know.

Anne – we just prefer drinking out of glass vs plastic. We just love mason jars! And for some reason things just taste better, especially with the glass straw ; )
