Hello and Bye

by Lori and Michelle on September 2, 2010

Looks like everyone loved our gluten-free dairy-free brownie yesterday… I must say I loved it too. I am not much of a brownie fan more of a chocolate chip cookie lover but sometimes I do like a brownie.

Well last night I hurried my way down to Charlotte to see the BF (we are going out of town for the weekend-the beach) plus to say goodbye to Emily. She is moving to DC in a few days so a bunch of Charlotte bloggers and readers met up at TCBY for some frozen treats. This was my first time meeting Emily so it was a hello and goodbye occasion. She is so sweet and sorry to see her go.

(pic from Diana, thanks girl)

I got their strawberry kiwi sorbet… I was not a huge fan. I just took a few bites. I am just not a sorbet person.

I had a great time meeting more Charlotte Bloggers and excited to get to know more of them better! :)

Before meeting up with everyone at TCBY I inhaled an avocado pudding ( I was starving from my road trip down)

Avocado, lemon, stevia, cucumber, arugula, fresh mint

I added too much arugula, but it really ended up being delicious.

This morning I gave Gary a surprise for breakfast instead of either cereal or a smoothie for him I made some gluten-free dairy-free cinnamon buns (Michelle and I have  been trying to perfect this recipe).

He really like them = success! ;)

My breakfast was

Pick-Me-Up Truffle – my pre-workout snack

Morning work-out:

My ‘second’ breakfast was green smoothie.

3 apples, 1 grapefruit, 2 cups water, stevia, collard greens, lemon, ginger, hemp seeds, sunflower lecithin, cardamon, cinnamon

Time to get my day going!

Be back later with a recipe I think you will all enjoy :)

For our US readers: What are your plans for the holiday weekend?Anything special or fun?

Hey Sweets! Quick question for you – when you make your puddings how much avocado do you usually use for one serving? They look delicious – I’m obsessed with anything pureed – lol – my family thinks I have regressed back to my baby days! haha

Krissy, we use one avocado per person. So if making an avocado pudding for one person I would use one avocado, though you could use half of one, but that is never enough for us ;) LOL. Our family already thought that about us, haha! We love things pureed up too! xoxo

I’m not a huge sorbet person, either… I definitely prefer ice cream! (but it usually upsets my tummy, so it has to be really worth it!)

For the holiday weekend, I’m relaxing at home with my husband, then on Monday I’m meeting my family in Las Vegas!! I’ve never been before, so I’m really excited! :)

Avocado pudding?!? I’ve never heard of that, but that sounds amazing.

I’m definitely an ice cream lover :)

Looks like a fun trip and meetup! I like sorbet sometimes but find it’s awfully sweet!

Hihorosie – yes it was just too sweet for me.

Those cinnamon buns look amazing!!!!!!!! I am not a sorbet person either. If I have dessert, it has to be worth it (as I munch on your brownie bites! Soooo worth it!). I am an ice cream person.. nothing icy like sorbet or Italian ice do it for me!

Lauren – I am not a fan of icy desserts either.

I like my second breakfast too. And chocolate in the morning!

I do like sorbet, but sometimes it is just too sugary. If sugar bothers you I can see why you’d want to steer clear of most sorbets.
