After another intense session of bodyrock tv we did the Tear It Up workout yesterday morning! We are a couple of workout sessions behind due to taking some time off. We have done a few workouts since being back and already I am starting to feel stronger. Lori and I really enjoy these high intensity strength and cardio mixed workouts because it helps us feel strong, mentally and physically. To me it is amazing how by working out can really help with self-confidence. I think that is why I have always enjoyed working out… to help make me feel better
Lori and I plan on sharing more exactly what we do for our workouts again. We used to share more and realized we missed it because it helps keep us on track and see our progress
After the workout it was time for a simple protein shake. I usually just have a green smoothie after my workouts but today I was running a little late in my schedule so I whipped up this simple smoothie and had my green smoothie a little bit later. This post-workout shake was blueberries, SunWarrior Rice Protein powder, stevia, and spirulina. Slowly still getting used to the rice protein flavor… still a Vega girl at heart
Moving along to mid-afternoon snack…a new flavor we are working for our farmers market raw dessert…chocolate ginger pumpkin layered bar!
Lori here taste tasting (sweater she is wearing is from RawThreads – princess design). I think these bars are a winner!
Creamy, smooth, not too sweet, great pumpkin and chocolate flavors! YUM
Going along with our unique and new dinners we put a twist on an old favorite of ours.
Another version of a wilted kale salad that we used to love all the time before taking out salads of our diet since our stomachs at the moment were not liking them.
Not sure why Lori is not looking at camera… supposedly she said our neighbors dog was watching us
and wondering what we are doing?!?!
But let back up a little bit. This kale amaranth salad didn’t start off like this… nope it started like this
Originally we were making a bowl of amaranth with lime and fresh mint mixed in with a new sauce of ours the B.L.S. Spread.
But looking at it we thought we want a dark leafy green with this … so we added kale.
And this is what it came out like
Another version of a wilted kale salad topped with ‘cheezy’ mint lime amaranth!
Who would of thought making a wilted kale salad with cooked amaranth on top would be so gooooooood?
I truly loved this salad last night and the good news is I think my stomach did too! I did not notice any uncomfortable pains or gas from it
I do plan on sharing what exactly the new sauce is and how we made this kale amaranth salad soon.
We also came across Heather’s Creamy pumpkin with millet that looks delicious too!
Time for me to go finish my green smoothie! We have a few more easy and delicious recipes coming your way like a super easy pumpkin butter!!

Those pumpkin bars look INSANELY delicious. Hope you ladies are having a lovely afternoon!
I NEED that pumpkin bar!
Pumpkin!!!! I just made some grain-free pumpkin bread the other day….and then some pumpkin pudding for bfast this morning….and grain free pumpkin pancakes for yesterday’s bfast!!! I’m crazy for pumpkin
Pumpkin bar looks delectable – and so does the kale and amaranth! I actually think that having some raw greens with cooked grains is an extremely good idea, both taste-wise and digestion/nutrients-wise.
love
Ela
I concur, that bar looks great!
Oh, wow! Your new chocolate pumpkin bars look amazing!!
I have yet to try a wilted kale salad… my kale almost always just winds up in my juicer! I am going to make a point of trying that soon!
I hear ya on posting about your workouts more often, too. I am trying to get back on track with mine as well, and it’s really helpful to be able to look back and see how far I’ve come! Keep it up!
Megan, you are so good about juicing. I have stopped juicing, not sure why, just love smoothies more now
It is nice to look back with where you come from especially with workouts, you can really see your progress!
I so want the recipe for your raw pumpkin chocolate layer bars! They look AMAZING!
