Hello Friends,
Here is a brief class update on how I am doing.
Well as you can see I have started to play around with my new adobe software that I got for my web design class.
I am entering my third week of class, and I have been loving it. Although there have been times when I am very overwhelmed and feel like I have no idea what I am doing. A lot of people in my class have some type of graphic/adobe software experience, as it is all new to me.
I have to build a website for my final project for my class.
I have a few ideas, but think I am going to do a photography blog. I will share more on this very soon!!! I am really excited for it, hope it turns out.
And as I slowly learn more, you will see some changes here on P2raw as well as our bakery online store.
I am extremely nervous about learning all these advanced programs for web.
Definitely going to be a work in progress, I have a lot to learn
But practice makes perfect, right? Lori mentioned to me it is like yoga. Whenever we do a class we get frustrated because we cannot do a pose, but then remember it is a journey. Something you practice over and over again.
So off to go practice I go…
Twins Question: What is something you have been doing lately that is challenging? Out of your comfort zone?
Anything new you have learned lately?
Pushing yourself out of your comfort really can help you grow stronger! Challenges can be good, just stay positive!
Till next time,
Michelle

this is definitely like yoga! takes patience, right? I am learning that in my yoga practice lately too.. I always want to jump ahead. Must slow down and learn.
Yes Lindsay and sometimes that is the hard part, to slow down!! When all we want to do is go go go, haha, you would think we would want to slow down, LOL
Everyday in the kitchen is a learning experience for me. I think it is great you are working towards something like this! Good luck with the project.
Thanks Sarena xoxo
A photography blog sounds amazing! The best of luck with that!
i’m impressed! keep it up M!
Thanks Melissa I will try
Hmmm, running with my new group is definitely out of my comfort zone. It is good for me though!
Nicole – we are so amazed at all that you do, good luck with your running group!
I just recently started attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition – totally out of my comfort zone but so awesome to be learning about health and nutrition and wellness! So rewarding!
Theresa – Awesome!!! That is an amazing program, good luck!
I think it’s great that you’re going to school and challenging yourself! Graphic design and illustration were my majors in college, so I love hearing about that stuff.
Can’t wait to see your website!
I’ve recently taken on a challenge myself, as well– I just enrolled in Nutrition School! Obviously, it’s been an interest of mine for a while, but I’m nervous to get back into “school mode” again. I am excited to get started, though!!
Megan – how exciting!! I think you will do great with nutrition. It is something we have always wanted to go back for, maybe one!! Cannot wait to hear more about it.
I admire you for taking this class and learning to do things that scare you. I try to improve my photography a little bit every day, and that totally freaks me out, but I can tell (slowly) it’s paying off. Maybe I can hire you to do techie stuff for me soon?
You got it Mama Pea!! xoxo
Very inspirational post! I have decided that this is my year of getting out of my comfort zone and over-coming procrastination. I’ve joined Team in Training which has ‘forced’ me to do things I would have never been able to accomplish on my own…1-run a marathon, 2-do some fund-raising (by far the most uncomfortable thing for me to do) and 3-make new friends (my ‘team’) and run in places I’ve never been!! AND I’ve committed to working on my own blog too!
Lynn that is great!!! So happy to hear this!!
Sounds like a fun class, I loved all the graphic design classes I took and Photoshop can be so much fun. I’m challenging myself again with training for another half marathon, which has been very consuming, and learning more about photography.
Yes Christine training for any race is time consuming and challenging
Bit of a daft question, but are you finding the course much more helpful than just trying to research web-based stuff online? I always feel so clueless with all things techno, but tell myself that I could probably wise up with info from the internet. I imagine a course would be much easier to follow and way more practical though, right?
Can already see the benefits with your snazzy new headings
Katey, yes I need a hands on learning experience to really learn, there are really great online sites that help me some, but this class is really helping put it all together.
i moved my blog from blogger to self hosted wordpress.
got a dslr
so in 6 weeks i changed my camera AND blog…talk about changes!
i am loving them tho!
Keep it up Averie
That course sounds so interesting, I did all this stuff at university but everything I learned is already out of date… Do start a photography blog, and you know share some tips
My recent challenge was starting a blog… Not quite getting into the swing of things, but with so many inspiring blogs out there, yours included, I hope I will. Thank you for introducing me to socca!
Great to hear Mari, it takes time to develop what you want in a blog but it will happen
yes I will share lots of tips on the photography blog.
I’d probably feel overwhelmed in class at times too as I know nada! It’ll be fun to follow your progress/journey. Excited for changes too. But I love the concept of a photography blog for final class assignment. It’s crazy with practicing anything – it starts off frustrating maybe even slow but then one day the light bulb clicks on and it’s so amazing. The practice pays off. You’ll be awesome!
