Hey luvs,
Happy Friday!! We had a busy week, so cannot believe it is Friday already, but we happily accept that fact as we got some special visitors coming this weekend.
You all have seen us make many chia puddings, bake with chia seeds and enjoying chia cocktails…guess you can safely assume we love them.
Have you heard of Mila? Do you know what Mila is?
Mila is a blend Salvia Hispanica L. seeds, known as chia, that have been carefullly selected from various regions of the world to maximize nutritional value.
Why Mila is different?
It starts with production. Mila is micro-sliced using cold fracture technology for maximum bio-availability. Mila is also tested to determine the quality and cleanliness.
If that is not intriguing enough, here are more benefits of adding Mila to your diet?
can help with:
- heart health
- anti-aging
- weight loss
- health blood pressure
- menopause
- prostate health
- gastro-intestinal health (one thing that we like about it)
- bone health (calcium is something we never really worry about because of our high consumption of chia)
- mental health
- blood sugar
- prenatal health (we were not aware that flax should be avoided during pregnancy, but that mila is safe, good to hear)
- breast cancer (a cause that is close to our hearts)
The wonderful Eleanor that is a Lifemax independent distributor contacted us asking if we have heard of Mila and if we had tried it before? We had heard of Mila, but never tried it, so she was sweet enough to send us lots of samples.
We have been really enjoying the samples of Mila, we have a few new recipes to come that use it. We are excited to share them.
Besides the reasons we stated above, here are more reasons why we love Mila ?
- gluten free
- high in fiber
- low in sugar
- high in protein
- good source of calcium
- high source of omega 3 fatty acid
- Kids love it!!! (great way to get your kids to eat a daily dose of Omega 3)
So you might be wondering how do you even get Mila?
To order Mila please visit Eleanor’s website and select ‘purchase product’. If you try Mila and love it, you can become a preferred customer with the company and receive autoship monthly for a discount. And if you REALLY LOVE Mila you can become an independent distributor on Eleanor’s team. And share Mila with family and friends (and eventually you will earn a check from the company). And so for anyone who is interested in becoming a part of a whole raw food business, here is your chance. A great way one can help improve their own health (or wealth), and the health of others. If you have questions about Mila or Lifemax please get in touch with Eleanor (as we have no affiliation).
Wait there is more….

We are going to share a Mila based recipe that we have been enjoying this week!! The Mila really added in some great texture to this pancake base. we know we know not your average looking pancake , we like to keep things interesting
Pure2raw recipe: Savory Mila Pan-Bread
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup tapioca (we have also made it with arrowroot)
- 1/3 cup millet flour
- 1/3 cup mila chia powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 5 tbsp applesauce
- 5 tbsp water (non dairy milk is great too)
Prep time – 5 minutes
Cook time – 5 minutes
Seriously an easy recipe, just stir ingredients in bowl till mixed. Add in your favorite flavors of choice, maybe lemon almond.
Makes about 6-7 pan-breads.
The reason why we are calling this pan-bread is because we made them like pancakes on a hot skillet with a lighlty oiled, but they had more of texture of bread. Loved these gluten free bread like pancakes, the texture is hard to describe to the fullest you will just have to try it out for yourself haha
Perfect for making a sandwich with…. a some avocado cream (which we added in parsley to the recipe).
Devour!
We loved this pan-bread made from Mila so much we ended up making them again last night but instead of tapioca we used arrowroot. And the results were still delicious!!
Till next time, don’t forget to leave a comment for the giveaway!
xoxo

I follow you on twitter (ksavod)
I never knew there were white chia seeds. I have never seen those in a store before.
I made these tonight for a friend’s daughter who has a lot of food allergies and who is also battling candida. I ended up eating two of them myself! I love the unique texture of these! I used arrowroot (friend’s daughter can’t have tapioca) and added some Indian curry seasonings and salt. I will definitely make these again. Thanks for the great recipes!
Awesome Lisa!! Glad you liked them.
I would love to win. It looks like it’d be great with oatmeal.
Wow! it looks great!
Those look so yummy! I love avacado. I think I would make some muffins first. I have been craving some lately.
I think I would try it in a cream of wheat – I am always cold and so smoothies aren’t it for me but I’ve been trying to make c o w smoothies so they’re warm but still drinkable (so far not good)
Hi girls! I got some Mila and would like to try making these. Do you think oat flour would work in place of the tapioca? Have you tried anything else beside the tapioca and cornstarch? I know you posted these two but since it’s been a few days I decided to ask and see if any other trials had been made!
Thanks!
Ana
Ana yay have fun with the Mila… now for this recipe we have not tried it with oat flour…the reason we used tapioca in the recipe was for the light chew it provides. I am not sure how it would turn out with oat flour but it is always worth a shot. Our batter for these was thick and kinda sticky, so I guess try to get batter to be a little thick and that should help. Let us know!
