good morning friends,
looks like many of us enjoy buckwheat pancakes and the Thrive foods book. Lori and I are excited to try out more recipes from the book.
lately we have been enjoying our avocado puddings daily. I have been craving puddings and avocados are perfect for it. I love how creamy and thick avocados can make puddings, it is like they were made just for that haha
besides our love of chia puddings we adore avocado puddings just as much especially when they are enjoyed with small spoons.
our typical avocado pudding has been based from sweetening it with stevia. Lori and I are starting to think we might have over used stevia. yes even though it is a great alternative to have a sugar free diet we felt like we were having it a little too much. we feel our bodies need a variety even when it comes to our sugar source.
today’s avocado pudding recipe comes from our basic go to recipe, our simple single serving recipe, and our newest no stevia recipe.
Pure2raw recipe: Banana Avocado Pudding
prep-time: 5 minutes
make-time: 5 minutes
serves: 1-2
tools needed: blender (or a food processor could work)
Ingredients:
- 2 avocados
- 1/2 cup cucumber, skinned
- 1 tbsp mesquite
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp sunflower lecithin (optional)
Directions:
Place avocado and cucumber along with the remaining ingredients into blender. Blend till thick and creamy.
Lori and I are working hard on updating our recipe page. many of you have noticed that it is no longer there. I took it down because it needed A LOT of work!!! the page was so out dated and we are trying to make it easier to find things. we are in the process of going back and reviewing all our recipes and what is the best way to organize them all. as we have so many.
we want to make sure it is user friendly for our dear readers to find the exact recipe they are looking for. we promise we will have it up and running again soon!
in the meantime when you are looking for a recipe you might have to use our search tab or click on raw foods or baking category buttons to see all our recipes there.
the funny thing too while we are going back through old recipes is that we really need to re-make some of them with better pictures. when we first started blogging we did not use the best camera nor did we make our pictures large as we do now. oh the memories of some of those old posts too haha how times have changed
once we have our updated recipe page we shall share with you all and get your feedback. because again we want to make sure you all can find the recipe you want fairly easy! if you are having trouble finding a recipe, please email us, ask us on facebook, or tweet us and we will help get you the recipe.
Twins Question: What do you like for organizing recipes? Is there any site or blog that you feel does it well? For bloggers, do you ever find yourself looking back at old posts/recipes and think to yourself oh boy I feel like I need to update with better pictures? Do you ever go back and update old posts?
till next time,
Michelle

ooh, I think that All The Time about my photos! I recently made a recipe again (the raw apple cobbler) and posted again – with updated photos – instead of updating the old post. as bad as the photos may be, it’s a record of improvement and that’s fun to see, ESPECIALLY with the same recipe!
this pudding is SO vibrantly green! I thought there must be spinach in it, so bright! sounds lovely.

Kristina, ya no spinach, we normally always add spirulina to our puddings
Oh yes, I cringe at old posts and photos. Even now I know I have a long way to go so that’s how nasty the early ones are haha.
Love avocado puddings! Glad you’re enjoying them x

My older photos are so hideous…ugh…I need to go through and remake them, too, with different pictures!!!
I hate looking at lists of words, so I set my recipe tab up as a photobook-when you click on a photo, you see the recipe. Check out mine or healthful Pursuit’s recipe page.

Yum. So, what exactly does mesquite taste like? And if i purchase it, what can I use it for?
thanks!
Barb – mesquite has a smoky caramel taste, you can use it anything. We use it a lot in our recipes, use it to help a little taste and sweetness to recipes. Let us know if you need more ideas.
I had to laugh when you mentioned eating puddings with a small spoon- thank you for not making me the only one that does that. I used to do it so that dessert lasted longer, but now it is such a habit I can’t imagine eating pudding with a regular sized dessertspoon.
That avocado pudding looks delish, there’s an avocado sitting here in my fruitbowl that is now destined for the same treatment.
Mandy oh we almost everything we can with a spoon
i’ve been organizing recipes via pinterest lately

It just looks so creamy and yummy!! I just recently got some stevia, but I don’t want to get addicted and add it on to everything. So I use it rarely, because some foods are just naturally sweet, that they don’t need any additional sweeteners.
I have to ask tho, what is mesquite? Is it a powder?

Ari mesquite is a powder, similar to carob. It has a smoky caramel flavor.
I love the use of banana as a sweetener here! Using fruits is one of my favorite ways to sweeten up foods. Can’t wait to see how you organize your recipe page. Updating mine is on my list of thins to do.

Yummy as always! My hubby is a fan of small spoons. We always joke and say that on his tomb stone it’s going to say “here lies Thomas, he liked small spoons”. Lol!

I feel like our recipe page is slowly getting out of control. It will soon be needing some organization as well. I think it’s cool to see how a blog has grown when I look at the very first posts. I say keep the old photos! It show’s how far you’ve come!

where do you find the sunflower emulsifier? I have friends allergic to soy so that would be good to have! Also..never had mesquite! Been wanting to try it in recipes. What does it do???
I see a lot of bloggers using recipage. Not sure if I like it because I like to browse randomly. I am not always sure what I’m looking for so like to see what kind of recipes are there? But didn’t really play with it much so maybe it’s more user friendly than I thought.
