cardio day

by lori on October 17, 2011

today’s workout was a simple cardio day.

it was a mix of walking outside and some jump roping.

gymboss timer and jump ropehere I am sporting my pink Gymboss Interval Timer and raw threads bamboo tank!

workout:

8 minutes jump-rope intervals. set our Gymboss Interval Timer for 5/25 second intervals for 16 rounds.

35 minute walk outside

followed by 8 minutes of interval yoga, we did the same interval as the jump rope.

felt great to do a light cardio day today after our brutal bodyrock tv workout yesterday.

green smoothie

afterwards we enjoyed a lovely simple green smoothie to nourish our bodies. smoothie was filled with water, parsley, hemp seeds, spirulina, and fresh pineapple.

a beautiful workout. a beautiful smoothie. what a beautiful Monday so far!

hope everyone else having a beautiful day!

till next time,

xoxo

This should have been cardio day for me, but I’m all congested (cold, yuck) so I decided to just take a rest day :( I’m sad because I was really looking forward to an outdoor run!

Hope your day continued beautiful! I just started jumping rope too–I like it a lot. What does 5/25 mean when you’re doing intervals? I’m trying to find some structured ways to work out with the rope.

Ela we take 5 second rest and then jump rope for 25 seconds. Hope this helps. We like to do jump roping as intervals, as it mentally helps us know we get a little break :)

It was a great day today here for a walk outside too, so we did. :)

I wish I had a place to walk that looks as nice as yours! I’m stuck just making circuits around the parking lot of my apartment complex :( At least I’m getting up, out and doing something, though, right?

Hey guys!
Just wanted to say i have been following your blog because i started to become intested in raw food and stuff and was look for recipes..your blog really gave me great ideas…Anyway, i was into health food from the age of 14 when i started to get skin issues like pimples and have been changing my diet ever since to become more restictive..had hormone issue..lost too much weight etc (i am now 20). After eating a really clean sort of diet i was still getthing afew little spots but not heaps HOWEVER recently i went to Paris and went CRAZY..ate CREPES PASTRIES Quiches PIZZA u get the drift..for 2 weeks. quite fatty hehe BUT i came back with beautiful skin and a new outlook on life..which has me questioning do i REALLY need to restict myself? Lately i have been still eating healthy but having a “treat” a day like something with white flour or a chocolate or pizza etc…

ANyway…just wanted to know what u guys thought of this and weather being worried about EVERYTHING u eat is really necessary… i just dont know anymore…after spending so much time worrying about evrything i ate i feel like if i am just more care free about everything..things will just be better

Jess wonderful point and yes something we have been wondering too! when we do not give much attention to our eats and skin, we tend to do better with everything..in how we feel and look. If we just keep things simple and do not stress over everything we seem to do a lot better. So we are working on being less restrictive and trying to enjoy more variety into our diet. Eat what we want when we want it, instead of worrying about it.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a green smoothie like that. Now that I have to go to work again in the morning (I have summers off) it’s hard to find the time to make one. But thanks for the reminder – maybe I’ll make one on Saturday!

Hello! Great great blog!! I just started eating chia seeds and have been having some crazy dreams and I think it is because of the seeds. Do you ladies have the same issue?

thanks Melisa, that is very interesting about chia seeds. we will have to start paying closer attention to our dreams on the days we have them!

Hey–yes, that’s really helpful, and totally makes sense. I think getting a little break helps with not tripping over the rope so much too!
