Happy Sunday Everyone!
How has your weekend been? Mine has been wonderful. Besides having to work all weekend, I have been enjoying leisurely weekend mornings. One reason I love the weekends – to sit down and really enjoy the start of my day without rushing through my routine.
love starting my morning with coffee, watching the Today Show and some reading
lori and i have been reading a lot of new books lately, cannot wait to share our thoughts
the weather has been wonderful here too, which helps brighten my spirit.
walks have been a must lately! a great way to move our body and get out of the house
today we did a bodyrocktv workout, and thanks to a reader, Jessica, for bringing this old favorite workout to our attention. It has been awhile since we did a burpee workout.
we took the 400 rep burpee workout and only did 2 rounds instead of 4. and altered some of the moves, as we did not have all the equipment. It was still a brutal workout…but I felt great! actually both of us felt amazing!
Lori even made Gary do the workout too. we were all sweating like crazy!!!
and we enjoyed another old favorite – vega protein powder
lori and I took a long break from protein powders as we did the elimination diet, have slowly been enjoying them again throughout this past week.
well time to go enjoy the rest of our Sunday and get some more work done.
Twins Question: Do your weekend mornings start off different then your week day mornings?
we know some of our facebook friends mention that they have kids and/or dogs which prevents them from having a leisurely morning. what about you?
till next time,
Michelle

Sounds like your both enjoying a lovely weekend. I had an amazing few days also with my best friend visiting. We enjoyed the gorgeous weather and strolling through town, a nice homemade dinner, and plenty of catch up time. Morning I get a few extra hours of sleep than I’m used to and usually some leisure time with coffee and blogs
My favorite way to start the day.
I love your tree pictures–and all your pics, actually.
My mornings tend to be different but not based on weekdays/weekends. E.g. yesterday I had a packet of work due for my Masters program, so I was working by 7 and had my head down until almost 1. But now that that’s sent, today is a more leisurely morning!
The burpee workout sounds brutal!
Is that a Doug Graham book you’re reading?
love

Yes Ela it is Doug Graham
Yay! Glad you got that book!
If you want to read more of his stuff I highly recommend The 80/10/10 Diet!
my weekend mornings at least saturday are as busy as my weekday mornings when i go to work m-f. sunday mornings are my only real ‘relaxing’ day and for that i am so grateful! i like the taste of the vega but i really have to watch my intake of any powder since the stevia/guar gum or xanthan usually give me a belly bloat or pain.

Melissa yes we have to watch that too.
Saturday mornings I barter at the yoga studio and take the 7:30 AM class. It’s always a great way to start the weekend. Sundays are lazy and relaxing. I wake up when I wake up and just enjoy the morning. The best of both worlds for me on weekends.

I love weekends because I actually get to sleep in! That and saturdays are my complete rest days, so unless I have a commitment, I leave those days to just chill. I love being able to wake up and give myself time to enjoy my coffe & breakfast before running off to class!

Lauren – I know, love it too!
Oh yes….love weekend mornings. Often the rest of the day matches the weekdays, but there is something about waking up leisurely and drinking coffee without feeling the need to hurry up and manage the to do list!

Normally, yes they do, but I had to work on Saturday so I had to get up and get going. I’m studying to get my fitness nutrition certification, so I’m anxious to hear what you’ve been reading and your thoughts! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Yayy! I’m glad the workout kicked your butt, I love when it does that!! My weekdays are pretty busy as I am juggling school, work, working out and a social life. I usually start my weekdays with a workout, but my weekends start off with a nice breakfast as I have time to make something special (like pancakes; it’s kind of a tradition at my house now) My weekends are pretty chill though, nothing too intense maybe a bike ride.
!
Saturday mornings are way more laid back than the rest of the week for me…..during the week I am trying to get the house cleaned, myself ready, the kids ready and fed, then we homeschool!!! Then Sundays we are running around getting ready for church….so Saturdays are the best!!!

My days are typically the same, regardless of whether it’s weekday or weekend. Though I might sleep in a little bit on Fridays & Saturdays, because those are the days my boyfriend has off, and we tend to stay up a little later on those nights.

I love vega powders! You guys must have super self control if you did a stint without them
I try and keep my weekday and weekend mornings consistent… soy latte, facebook, and listening to the radio from my hometown over the internet!

I’m about to go for a walk right now! I usually workout right away on the weekends and mid day during the week.
