how do you like that title for a Monday?
hope you had a wonderful weekend! our weekend was fun, interesting, sad, frustrating, happy, silly, serious, and went by too fast. anyone else in shock that we are just about done with the first month of 2012??
k well, despite all the craziness here we are still somehow managing to get some workouts in. one of the best parts of our days.
here is what we did last week for our workouts
Monday – about 25 minutes of yoga
Tuesday – our 12 minute Gymboss Interval Timer sweat beats stress workout
Wednesday – floor ab challenge from bodyrock that we have done back in March that we remember making our abs extremely sore and this workout did not disappoint the second time around. it is a 10 minute ab workout made up of 2 exercises: mountain climbers and toe touches.
if you want a really good ab workout, that if your push hard we promise your abs will be sore, this workout is for you. try this 10 minute ab workout and let us know how you did. it is fun and challenging.
we are on our way to get those great abs.
Thursday – yoga intervals. Set our Gymboss Interval Timer to 20 rounds of 5 and 25 second intervals.
Friday – yoga intervals. same as above. we just pick different yoga poses to focus on that day. we are loving the focus that yoga brings to our fitness practice.
Saturday – active rest day – went for a quick 15-20 minute walk outside, do not really remember how long as we did not time it. just went out to move the legs some and get some Vit-D.
Sunday – ZWOD workout two. we loved Zuzana’s first workout, and could not wait to do this one. we had this workout planned for Friday, but we were still a little store from our Wednesday workout that we pushed it back.
we need all our strength for our HIIT workouts.
we feel we are slowly getting our strength back from taking time off from HIIT workouts. we are looking forward to upping our weight and increasing our intensity up soon.
and we have been doing our 2 minutes of plank each day before our workout as part of our warm-up. plus end our workouts with practicing headstands (plus a little cool down). some days the headstands feel easier, but others we are dying to stay up, haha. practice makes perfect right?
this week we plan to try to hold our plank for 2 minutes and 30 seconds! we are slowly increasing our time. we want to stick with the challenge so trying not to over do it so we just stop. we enjoy the idea of slowing increasing our plank holding time. every little second counts in our book.

Twins Question Anyone else doing a plank a day? Do you have any good ab workouts that always make your abs sore the next day? What is your favorite body part to workout?
Lori’s favorite body part to workout is her arms and Michelle’s favorite is shoulders. guess we both like to work the upper body more then the lower. though lately we have been enjoying doing ab exercises.
till next time,
xo

I always love good workout suggestions! I LOVE planks! They make me feel so strong and they work so much all at once! I like working my thighs, butt and shoulders. All three of those areas make me feel stronger and I notice that when I work them, I’m also working other complementary body parts. I hope you two have a great day!

Sarena oh yes working the butt is another fav of ours too
I am also so happy that Zuzanna ist finally back! And I also loved her work-out! My arms were sore for the next couple of days! I love my HIITs!!!
And my ashtanga yoga studio here in Paris: two times a weeks one and a half hour of sweating and breathing and it feels so good!
I was an ambitious runner but for one year all I have done are HIITs and yoga and I never felt or looked so good! Strength Training really makes the difference!

Juliane sounds awesome! our arms are a little sore too
I really like the idea of these workouts. Short and sweet. Now, if I could just master the pushup, I’d be set!

What a great mix of workouts you had last week. I’m also glad zuzana is back with workouts, I love her energy and attitude! I did her ZWOD #1 last week after you recommended it in a post and wow- still sore! I’ll try to get her #2 in later this week because it looks like a good one (watching the youtube as I type this)- and I also prefer working my upper body.

Katie we love her energy too!
This sounds crazy for me to say, because I’ve always hated ab workouts, but now that I’m pretty far into my pregnancy, I’m actually LOOKING FORWARD to working my abs again!! Lord knows they’ll need the workout

Wow those workouts sound great for when I’m in a time crunch!!! And 2:30 is an amazing plank time! I’m happy if I can get to 2 minutes, and that’s rare

I went back yesterday and did a Tabata workout and it felt amazing, but I much prefer that to running for 5miles

Kris to be honest we do not like doing much cardio, so our HIITs are our cardio in a way!
Love your blog! I’m all for planks and real pushups – I miss them when I skip a day ! Sure they burn like mad but I still miss them!
Wow, great workout ideas above!
My gym offers a core strengthening class that always leaves my abdominals feeling it the next day. Most of the moves involve a balance ball, and lots of side crunching and twisting.

I’ll definitely try that ab workout!
I’m a fan of arm workouts way more than leg, but I don’t mind working them in when it’s bodyrock or full body style.
I like the ab workout from P90x—it’s straightforward and easy to see progress!

Girls!
I want to do that challenge tomorrow…how do I set my gymboss as a timer to count down?? I love both of those moves for abs…so it’s done! My favs are the balance ball rollout and pikes or balance ball knee ins. I always feel those! And straight arm side plank with a rotation. YES!
My fav body part to work USED to be abs. Now since the baby I don’t feel them like I used to so it’s not as fun. Now I think I like working my back the best.
Have a great night!
Oh…Q…in the first pic are those yoga pants with the stripe raw threads? If so is she coming back to Philly anytime soon? I want to try on some stuff before I order!

Yeah, great Monday title! Crazy time over here, but wanting to do more exercise again.
I was doing a plank a day for a while, got up to 90 secs–need to get back in the habit, so thanks for the reminder!
