Happy Tuesday everyone!
we managed to get right back into our morning workout today and it felt great.
love the feeling of doing something wonderful for our bodies. and just as much as we love to work up a good sweat, we love nourishing our bodies with wholesome food.
a few weeks ago the wonderful people at Mountain Rose Herbs contacted us to see if we wanted to do a review of a product from their Epicurean line. their products are organic, high quality, and full of flavor. Mountain Rose Herbs works with the farmers for fair prices, they donate 2% of the proceeds from this line to the Organic Consumers Association, and use recycled glass bottles. can’t get much better than that, right?
one reason we just love mountain rose herbs is because they have high quality products at reasonable prices. plus they offer anyone bulk pricing discounts!!!!
we already love their products, we use a variety of their sea salts just about everyday to sprinkle on our dishes. and we use a lot of their spices and herbs over at Twin Cakes Bakery.
after some thought we decided on the pumpkin seed oil. we all know how wonderful pumpkin seeds are for your health (rich with omega fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals), so trying it as an oil we were intrigued!
we have been enjoying this pumpkin seed oil for a few weeks now and must say we do enjoy it!!
when we first tried the oil, it was different. good different. it was weird having the taste of pumpkin seeds in an oil form, not crunchy like the seeds. it adds wonderful flavor and depth to our salads! we would not recommend cooking with this oil, like olive oil, enjoy it over salads, sweet potatoes, or any prepared dish. using unique oils, like this pumpkin seed oil, is a great way to get variety of oils into your diet!! we love our healthy fats
and one lucky Pure2raw reader gets a chance to win a bottle of this wonderful organic pumpkin seed oil!
GIVEAWAY TIME
yep, the nice people over at Mountain Rose Herbs mentioned we could offer a bottle to our readers
rules for entering this giveaway. none.
all we asks that you leave on comment here letting us know what is your favorite Organic Culinary Oil?
and for an extra entry tweet – I want to win a bottle of @MtnRoseHerbs oil from @pure2raw
and for our facebook friends – comment on our facebook page
and another thing we have been loving is
we will announce winner of our pumpkin seed oil giveaway on Friday
through all our research of finding natural products to help heal our acne, a lot of people mentioned Manuka Honey. we, well mostly Lori, have been using this honey for about 2 weeks now. and do feel it is helping with the inflammation! we use a little as a spot treatment, and most recently Lori has been using a thin layer at night. just be warned it is sticky. we lay a towel on pillow overnight and rinse in morning. really helps our skin feel moisturized.
well these are two new things we have been enjoying. off to have our coffee followed by a protein shake.
have a wonderful day!
till next time,
L & M

I love cooking with organic coconut oil. It has a healthy oil with very high steaming point and it adds lovely flavor to the dish. I would love to try pumpkin oil or walnut oil because I’m sure they add amazing flavor as well.

Manuka honey is fantastic! The one you have above is actually the exact same kind that I purchase as well. I haven’t tried putting it on my face but I know my sister has and she swears by it. Not sure if this is useful or not to you, but I use an oat mask every other day or so and it helps my facial skin immensely. I grind up organic oats into a powder, mix with water to make a paste, slather all over my face and wait until it hardens before washing off. It softens the skin and reduces redness A LOT. Try it!
Hi gals!! I’m in love with coconut oil but I would love to try pumpkin seed oil!
How fun! I’ve never heard of this type of oil. I usually just stick to the “typical” suspects in terms of oils, so I’d really like to branch out

I love using coconut oil.
oooh! i love coconut oil or cold pressed grape seed oil (i like to cook with high heat and don’t want to start fires so the grapeseed works great!)
woah pumpkin seed oil sound cool! would love to try it.
A new oil…how exciting! I tend to get stuck in a rut with my oils….so thanks to you guys I can venture forth and try new things. I currently eat coconut oil a lot, but it doesn’t work so well in salad dressings I’ve found. This one sounds like its a good one for yummy salads.
I love cooking with coconut oil – especially scrambling eggs in coconut oil!
I love using an EFA blend (hemp, flax, green tea seed, more stuff) in my salad dressings. But I’d extra love to try a new type of oil!
I love cooking with organic coconut oil. Sometimes I use organic grapeseed oil organic extra virgin olive oil as well, depending on the recipe.
My favorite culinary oil is Garlic Olive Oil. I love it on vegetables. I also love Mountain Rose Herbs. I use their nettle leaf to make a wonderful calcium rich infusion. Would love to try the Pumpkin Seed Oil!
Love this oil, not that I’ve had the brand but in Germany last year during the fall season I found a ‘kurbil ol’ at the farmers market … pumpkin oil is so yummy and rich, cooking with it isn’t really recommended – its best to drizzle on. I love it in pumpkin curry soup! Nyum!

I really liked manuka honey when I used it. I had a spoonful each day. I liked the taste and the energy boost, although I didn’t really notice much of a difference in my everyday life. I wish it were less subtle!
I have been using grape seed oil a lot lately because it has such a neutral taste!

If I win this, I promise I will begin cooking again instead of eating chocolate, crackers, and cheese all the time.

I love using Organic Coconut Oil! Not only is it a wonderful, healthy, digestive cooking oil, but it is amazing for my face and body moisture as well! Yay healthy oils!!!
I would like to try this. i usually use flax oil, that’s about as fancy as I get. do you know if this oil is cold-pressed/raw? thanks.
My absolute favorite raw organic oil to use is coconut oil. Sometimes olive oil if I am sauteeing vegetables, but coconut oil is so versatile! I used to buy pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin butter, I need to get back into that, I LOVED THEM!

I LOVE Sacha Inchi oil, which is a rich source of Omega-3′s. My second favorite is Macadamia Nut Oil!!! I haven’t tried pumpkin oil, but I would love to! Thank you!
I’ve always wanted to try grapeseed oil. Heard the burn rate is high.
Pumpkin seed oil… sounds like it would sear herb-crusted tofu and then add to a salad.

thanks for holding this amazing giveaway. my favorite culinary oil is macadamia oil. it is incredibly fragrant and buttery!
ooh, does oil infused with garlic count? i cannot get enough of it. but my “good girl” answer is coconut oil. latest project i used it on: the ‘cheesecake’ currently sitting on my freezer.
I would love pumpkin seed oil! I actually have been meaning to try it but for skin care products. Also, I have heard wonderful things for Manuka Honey. A herbalist I know actually cured someones MRSA with it! How amazing is that?
