hello friends!
starting your morning with a special super bowl breakfast? super bowl donuts maybe?
we did! yesterday we enjoyed making our guest some gluten free mini donuts (we made some changes to the recipe, we did brown rice flour instead of coconut flour, one egg instead of 2, and no coconut oil – did 1/2 cup buttermilk and they turned out great as well!)
last night we made our cookie cake for all us to enjoy (again with some changes. we made it low sugar and with buckwheat flour and with no coconut oil, we just did 1 cup pumpkin puree, again it turned out great!) we did a chocolate avocado frosting on top. just blended one avocado with some stevia, vanilla, and cocoa. delicious.
yum!
guess no one liked it
and this morning we enjoyed some Twin Cakes biscotti and coffee. love entertaining others. do you enjoy making special meals for others when visiting?
today we are discussing fitness. even though it is super bowl Sunday we still have to make time for some exercise, even if it is just 2 minutes of holding plank like we did yesterday! or maybe you are looking to burn 100 calories, check out this great list of exercises that burn 100 calories!
always nice to get the body moving before digging into all the yummy super bowl eats. we can’t wait to make our sweet potato guacamole again for everyone here to enjoy.
Monday: yoga intervals for about 20 minutes
Tuesday: a 12 minute HIIT workout
Wednesday: 30 minute Tone it Up workout. we have incorporated some of the Tone it Up girls workout moves before in our workouts, but decided to try a full work out. they always look like fun. we love trying new workouts.
Thursday: another Tone it Up workout we did the sunset workout plus did a 20 minute walk outside before the workout. after the workout we did our yoga handstands along with light stretching.
our thoughts on Tone it Up? we loved it! we really liked some of the moves that Karena and Katrina do in their videos. the two tone it up workouts that we did were not quite like our bodyrock or now zwow workouts, but they did get the heart moving and muscles burning. we plan to keep incorporating some of the Tone it Up workouts into our fitness routine. (we did not get asked to review the workouts. we chose these workouts ourselves)
Friday: ZWOW #3 – lower body workout. our legs were shaking afterwards! we did a quick video after the workout.
Saturday and Sunday: rest days for us – but we did hold our plank for 2:30 minutes! a little bit each day counts. remember that!
all week we did a our 2:30 minute plank holding. we admit sometimes our arms and shoulders were shaking and had to go into downward dog for a few seconds but then jumped back into plank. gotta love the burn. but we did it, somehow.
we are so proud of ourselves for keeping up with it! we know our hard work will pay off soon. now this coming week we are trying 3 minutes of holding plank. we shall see how it goes.
Twins Question: have your tried the Tone it Up girls workouts before? have your heard of them before? any one else come across some great fitness related things? who is ready for some super bowl eats and commercials?
till next time,
xoxo

I’m psyched to watch the game with friends! I was planning on making your guac, but of course ate my last sweet potato yesterday not thinking… it might end up being plain guac instead. You week of workouts looks awesome, I’ve never heard of tone it up… but I have been doing a couple of zuzana’s wods- ouch!

I’ve done Tracy Anderson’s metamorphosis workout videos and I felt the difference big time.
And planks are only easy in theory…I shake uncontrollably and embarrassingly!
