We made it to Thursday! Almost Friday, then the weekend can begin…are you as excited as me?
There are a few reasons for my excitement, okay really just one - HONEYMOON!! Yep it is time for Gary and I to go away, relax, and enjoy the beach!
But before I can put my toes into the sand, workouts must be done!
Michelle and I have been busy over at the bakery that our workouts have been squeezed in when we can. And to be honest, we have not been “totally there” in our workouts. Not like us , but we both just have so much on our minds that our workouts are just a quick thing right now.
We loved hearing everyone’s thoughts on rest days, so thank you!
After the fun weekend we had with our parents and friends, we looked forward to getting back to our workouts.
Monday – Amanda Russell’s Cardio Kick Off Day 1 - we set our Gymboss Interval Timer to 15/60 second intervals for 16 rounds and did 8 different exercises. man this was tough! jumping front kicks are hard, and we are not that good at them.
Tuesday - JennFit Skinny Jeans Workout – a rep workout made up of 7 exercises with burpees in between! now this is our type of workout.
Wednesday – we went for a RUN!!!! Our sister (raw threads) would be so proud!!
A few reasons we went for a run -
- it was nice day
- needed fresh air
- challenge the body differently
- clear the mind
- new scenery (instead of working out in between boxes, a sofa, tables, etc)
Michelle and I set our Gymboss Interval Timer to intervals of 60 second and 30 seconds. During the 60 seconds we did a slow jog, and then picked up the pace (not a full sprint) during the 30 seconds. We did this 12 times. We only walked once!!! Pretty good considering we have not ran in months. We enjoy our indoor workouts so much that running is never really on our mind, but it was a nice change.
Also, we feel it is a good idea to do something out of the ordinary. It really pushes the body. And it was a great mental break for us as well. I remember Michelle mentioning during our cool down that she did not think about anything except running. Which was the point! We both have been dealing with a lot of things that we needed something to distract us and this quick run did the trick.
And for today’s workout…after we digest some protein waffles (think we have a vegan version, recipe up tomorrow)….it will be #ZWOW 18
