We made it to Thursday! Almost Friday, then the weekend can begin…are you as excited as me?

There are a few reasons for my excitement, okay really just one – HONEYMOON!! Yep it is time for Gary and I to go away, relax, and enjoy the beach!

But before I can put my toes into the sand, workouts must be done!

Michelle and I have been busy over at the bakery that our workouts have been squeezed in when we can. And to be honest, we have not been “totally there” in our workouts. Not like us , but we both just have so much on our minds that our workouts are just a quick thing right now.

We loved hearing everyone’s thoughts on rest days, so thank you!

After the fun weekend we had with our parents and friends, we looked forward to getting back to our workouts.

Monday – Amanda Russell’s Cardio Kick Off Day 1 – we set our Gymboss Interval Timer to 15/60 second intervals for 16 rounds and did 8 different exercises. man this was tough! jumping front kicks are hard, and we are not that good at them.

Tuesday – JennFit Skinny Jeans Workout – a rep workout made up of 7 exercises with burpees in between! now this is our type of workout.

Wednesday – we went for a RUN!!!! Our sister (raw threads) would be so proud!!

A few reasons we went for a run –

  • it was nice day
  • needed fresh air
  • challenge the body differently
  • clear the mind
  • new scenery (instead of working out in between boxes, a sofa, tables, etc)

Michelle and I set our Gymboss Interval Timer to intervals of 60 second and 30 seconds. During the 60 seconds we did a slow jog, and then picked up the pace (not a full sprint) during the 30 seconds. We did this 12 times. We only walked once!!! Pretty good considering we have not ran in months. We enjoy our indoor workouts so much that running is never really on our mind, but it was a nice change.

Also, we feel it is a good idea to do something out of the ordinary. It really pushes the body. And it was a great mental break for us as well. I remember Michelle mentioning during our cool down that she did not think about anything except running. Which was the point! We both have been dealing with a lot of things that we needed something to distract us and this quick run did the trick.

And for today’s workout…after we digest some protein waffles (think we have a vegan version, recipe up tomorrow)….it will be #ZWOW 18

My husband and I tossed around many ideas for a honeymoon including the more traditional beach vacation. We considered Fiji as well as the Bahamas, but ultimately we realized that we could go to the beach anytime. Why not take this opportunity to do something really different? So, we ended up going to Egypt. And it was the most amazing trip ever! I’m so glad we did something non-traditional.

Tony and I never had a honeymoon. We spent our wedding night in a cabin, but that was it. We had NO money for a honeymoon. It was still a special night now ;)! Have fun at the beach! I’m so jealous! I want to go to the beach for about three days this year. You know, like we know that you don’t get much in the way of vacation when you own your own business, so hopefully we can get away for a little bit! Have fun!

I have loved the Amanda Russell workouts this week! Great idea for the run…sometimes it can be daunting in the beginning but the intervals make it fun! Going to try this out!! Thanks! :)

I too went on a run on tuesday… first time in months. It was pouring rain and I really love running in the rain, plus my arms were sore and I didn’t feel like doing a typical workout. It ended up being a great 4 mile run, and I surprised myself with my endurance. I still love HIIT workouts a lot more… and walking and biking for getting outdoors. But an occasional run can be nice and cathartic.

Sarena I hear ya! Gary and I are actually staying at my parents time share beach house as we have no money to travel anywhere else. And lucky for me I have a twin who can run things while I am gone 😉

We did not go on a honeymoon! We spent one night at a condo on the resort where we had the reception. Not a tropical vacation but it was good! :) We actually treated ourselves to a “honeymoon” in Bermuda 6 years after being married!

I still have to catch up on your business post! I’m interested in reading it. I loved ZWOW 18. Great workout, as always. Have a great time on your honeymoon Lori! I like the Amanda Russell workouts as well, but definitely prefer Zuzana’s and other HIIT! Glad you guys got out and changed your workout up a bit with the run, sometimes its necessary to mix it up! I wish I liked running, so much easier to step outdoors, but I like spinning more :)

Congrats on the run! I haven’t run in months either due to a knee injury but when I went I did a 5K and only walked 3 times for about 1-1:30 only each time. I think I had so much energy beCAUSE it had been so long since I ran!

I’m not married yet but this is always a fun conversation I have, because I’m from the Cayman Islands where most people either honeymoon or have a destination wedding. So when you’re from somewhere that’s pretty much a honeymoon destination in and of itself, where do you honeymoon? For example, my sister honeymooned in New York! The polar opposite but still a fun place to visit haha. My friend from Hawaii honeymooned in Cayman so she told me I should do the opposite and honeymoon in Hawaii lol!

My husband in I went to St. Lucia and it was an amazing experience. We stayed at the Ti Kaye Resort ( and didn’t want to leave! We would like to go back for our 5 year anniversary to experience more. What I like most about it is that we are active people and can’t sit on the beach for long periods of time, so this trip was able to satisfy our itch to hike, zip line, snorkle, get a couples massage looking out at the cove, and so much more. Sandals has a resort there too, but I felt like Ti Kaye wasn’t as touristy and the staff takes great care of you. If you want some tips let me know and I’d be happy to provide any information that was helpful for us. Happy honeymoom searching!!!

My husband and I went to St. Lucia at the Ti Kaye Village ( for a perfect honeymoon. We didn’t want to leave but are planning on going back for our 5 year anniversary. I highly recommend this place as there is so much to do and see if you need to stay active or simply relax on the beach.
