Hello everyone,
How is everyone’s day going so far?
We got something exciting to share, the people at CSN stores contact us about doing a giveaway and product review on their site Kids Furniture. We looked over their site and looks like the got a great green line with great baby products which we are happy to review since our sister is pregnant. Always happy to find great baby things! Stay tuned for more details!
Lori and I have been quite productive today! We got up early this morning and got our workout done first thing. Today our workout was yoga. Glorious way to start the day in my opinion! Get the legs moving and blood pumping
Before we did our yoga workout we made a quick pre-workout sludge. A mixture of coconut oil, lemon, date paste, cacao powder! Simple and delicious. *sorry forgot to take a picture!
After our workout we enjoyed our green smoothie! (sorry no picture) but it was a collard green, granny smith apple, stevia, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, sunflower lecithin, dulse flakes and lemon. Perfect way to start our morning after a great 45 minute yoga session!
We did enjoy some delicious eats from yesterday starting with a simple snack of our coconut kefir – made more into a shake mixed with some chorella, stevia and maca!

And dinner was something different for us. It was an experiment. We soaked and fermented amaranth for 24 hours and than cooked it on the stove top with the same fermented water we soaked it in. We cooked the amaranth for about 20-30 minutes.
We knew that soaking grains make it easier for digestion so we thought about putting a probiotic in there to see if adding some healthy bacteria would help too! The finally result? Yes we felt it did help with our digestion. Not sure if it really fermented but the idea was nice
We ended up adding some of our cheez sauce over it with some fresh cilantro! So our amaranth dish turned out to be more like amaranth soup
It was delicious!
Amaranth soup served along side some green kraut (that we made a few days ago in the bowl)
I ended up drizzling the amaranth soup over the kraut… OMG …. HEAVENLY! Beyond words, seriously amazing
The cheez sauce really made this dish. Loved it on top of my sauerkraut. Who knew? I guess I really do love just about anything with sauerkraut.
And as we were watching our favorite show LOST! We decided to have more carrot cake
I told you I could have this every night!!!!

A little piece of heaven in a bowl! Love how we finally found a great way to use up our carrot pulp from our juices! We will share this carrot cake recipe tomorrow
Also today Lori and I were busy in the kitchen un-baking some treats for our farmers markets this weekend (testing more things for our cookbook, so happy to hear that everyone is excited for it), we are trying to create some new things. We will show you all pictures of everything later this week!
Also Lori is planning on heading over seas to visit her boyfriend in Paris in a few weeks. So if you have any good tips or advice for traveling in Paris, southern France and Spain (that is where she is traveling around) please let us know. She would love any suggestions
Till next time,
Michelle

Good evening luvs,
We are on a roll with making delicious recipes over here at P2R. Now if you have hemp seeds laying around you really need to make this sauce! It is so light and creamy and a little ‘nutty’! Love it
What have the twins been up to for workouts lately?
Well, we have really been focusing on our yoga. And doing this fantastic DVD! Staying active at home is key especially when you are snowed in
We also have been doing lots of extra hip opening exercises and head stands. Loving it all!
This month we are really trying to do our workouts with a focus. Each day we are going to dedicate our yoga practice or whatever we do for a workout with an intention. Example: today’s practice for me was to be more confident!
Michelle’s intention was: to not care what others think- do her own thing ( I know that might sound selfish but we all need to start doing it)
For a great read about not letting others get to you check out here!
This article really got both of us thinking. Do we worry too much about what others think? YES!
Why? Not sure!
Both of us are not sure why we are always worrying about what others think of us. We try really hard to do just our own thing but it can be difficult. By having this blog has been a great experience for us both. We have meet so many great people and those people we now consider friends
Though by having this blog and reading so many other great blogs it can be very difficult not to compare yourself to others or stay true to who you are!
Does anyone else have this feeling as well?
I thinking having health, fitness, beauty, food blogs are great! I love reading them
though trying to remind myself of who I am and not judge myself can be a challenge. I do admit most of the time reading other blogs can sometimes make me second guess my own choices and why I do things. But than again sometimes it makes me happy with my choices and makes me what to do better.
So in a way all of you are making me a better person by challenging myself to do my best.
Therefore, thanks to all of you for making Michelle and I push ourselves to our limits. Now it is just up to us not to worry about what ‘others’ might think of us no matter what we do. Because we write, eat, exercise, love, etc for ourselves!
Do you feel the same mental challenges with your blog or in your life?
Other Great News:
Due to request for a variety pack of all our pure2raw product offerings we have made some changes to our online store. Please check out for more information. *though more of a sample pack is something we are still working out the details

We forgot to mention some great giveaways going on earlier this morning that are definitely worth checking out.

Hey friends,
Glad to see everyone liking Michelle’s Coconut Avocado Rice Stack dish! Yummy making me crave it again
Definitely snowed here but not as bad as I know other places got hit with this snow storm
But hey us Florida raised girls are not good with the ice or snow! And we mainly got more ice than snow!

My backdoor area

Snow/sleet is still coming down slowly. Not as bad as I was expecting which is a good thing. I know many of our northern readers think this is a piece of cake
the only thing about snow is when it melts and turns to ice!!!! That is the part I hate!
To keep us warm this morning we whipped a warmed apple pie green smoothie

Pure2Raw Recipe: Warm Apple Pie Green Smoothie
3-4 stalks kale (we used dino kale)
1 –1 1/2 cups water (depending on your level of thickness you prefer)
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom
1 inch fresh ginger
2-3 apples, chopped
1 packet stevia (add more if you need to)
2 tsp lemon juice
How to make it warmed?
One you blend it for a long time or do what we did.
Place some coconut oil in a skillet and place chopped apples in skillet over low heat. And let the apples get a little warm than transfer to blender and blend till creamy!
It is a nice treat on a cold day though you are still able to get your green smoothie in
We put ours in a bowl coffee cup (kinda like a bowl) in honor of this sweet lady. We have seen her put her smoothies in a bowl and thought what a cute idea. Though we did not have any of the fun toppings she usually puts on top
But that is ok, it was still a fantastic smoothie to start our day!
Workout:
55 minute of this new Yoga DVD

(source)
Yep Jennifer Aniston’s yoga instructor’s new dvd. We were so excited to finally get this in the mail that we bought a few days ago
We have seen it around in the blog world. And have heard great reviews of it!
Twins Review: 2 thumbs up!!!
We love it. Love the quality of the dvd, the music, the instructor (which is huge for us), and of course loved the yoga poses
Mandy is a doll. So cute and honest in the video. She really makes you feel like you can do anything and so positive about life. I can see why Jennifer Aniston really fell in love with Mandy’s yoga practice style. So different and unique and intense. You will feel your butt, thighs, and abs burn
It is definitely a different pace yoga dvd compared to others we have tried. We really like how she incorporates strength training moves along with yoga.
Post-workout meal: Mint lime avocado pudding

Looks a little plain?!?!! Pudding needs something to jazz it up

There that is better
Yacon syrup always does the trick!
Got a little hungry few hours later so grabbed some fermented foods

Raw sauerkraut with carrots

Raw fermented veggies

Perfect!
Got something delicious for dinner and dessert tonight
Let’s just say lots of chocolate involved!!! Can I have dessert before dinner!?!?!
Check out some great giveaways going on:
Lauren’s glass straws
Kristen Chia seeds
Averie iherbs
Till next time,

Hey friends,
*for those of you who have emailed us or left us a question in the comment section we are working on getting back to each and every one of you soon
How is everyone? Everyone spreading the word about the great bake sale that is happening on The Chic Life!!!! It is a great cause to raise money for Haiti!
Now onto the fun stuff… food!
Yesterday morning started with our a delicious green smoothie

Lunch was another smoothie made with our coconut kefir with some coconut oil, basil, stevia, and some lemon

Don’t worry we did not have another green smoothie instead our mid-afternoon snack was this mouthwatering chocolate lovers delight

Malted Chocolate avocado pudding! One of our best ones yet

Sweetened with stevia and some dates.

Pure Bliss! We love our raw cacao and carob! A girl can never have too much chocolate
Now this snack is going to be hard to beat?!?!
But….
Is 3pm too early to have a drink?!?!

Just kidding. This is just our water kefir. Though we like to put in our wine glasses it helps make us feel classy and proper
We love it! Another great afternoon snack in our opinion! Great way to pump up our good bacteria!
Dinner was a little different for the both of us!
I had a very simple yet classy dinner – a mix of fermented veggies and sauerkraut mixed in a jar with lots of tahini about 2 tbsp worth
Heather seriously made eating out of a jar so much fun! Thanks girl!

My favorite condiment at the moment – TAHINI (always saves the day)

Seriously raw tahini and raw fermented veggies go great together! Perfect marriage of flavors in my opinion!!!!
Lori wanted to be a little different! GASP! She was craving something a little warm.
Lori had a mix of her fermented veggies and sauerkraut though made a creamy veggie mash on the side!

Topped the fermented veggies with some hemp seeds. A little ‘healthy fat’ booster to the meal!

She just might share the recipe with you all
It is not your average mash!!!!
I just had to take a bite! So good and creamy. Fantastic!
The remaining of the evening was boring! We just drank lemon water
Nice!
Workout:
Morning routine. Really enjoying our morning yoga sessions. We did try some yoga studios last week that we mentioned before though due to money reasons can’t go all the time. So we decided to create our own ‘yoga class’ at home and we do it almost every morning.
We get our yoga inspiration from these great ladies Averie, Heather, Jenna. Also my yoga love started with my friend Gina where we both fell in love with it while at 105 degrees and I know that Whit, Lori and Stephanie are all falling in love with yoga as well
Look Averie at all the yoga love going around
Hopefully soon Lori and I will be as good as you
Lori and I have really been enjoying our yoga sessions every morning! We are realizing that it is a journey and a practice not something you become good at overnight. Yoga really helps calm us down and brings awareness to ourselves. It really has been strengthening not our body but also our minds
Love that! I highly recommend incorporating some form of yoga into our daily fitness routine! Your body and mind will thank you for it!
Time for us to go watch some Oprah while we do some work. Going to be a good show today. Check it out.
And remember about the Haiti Bakesale!

Till next time,
Michelle

Hello Friends,
Glad that everyone liked our fermented veggies video
YAY for fermented veggies! It is just amazing again how simple they are to make and how good they are for you. Remember everyone can benefit from incorporating them into their diet
Yesterday seriously flew by for us due to getting ready for our farmers market which we made lots of new raw crackers and breads for our customers to try
Here is a re-cap of some of our eats from yesterday
Our morning did not start with our typical green smoothie – GASP! I know! Don’t worry we have our green smoothie later in the day
Instead we made a coconut kefir green shake
*made with spirulina, coconut oil, lots of stevia and some maca
Next was our pre-lunch meal – fermented veggies topped with hemp seeds and hemp oil (love our good fats!!!)

About an hour later or so we got hungry for lunch – wilted arugula salad with avocado, apple cider vinegar, dulse flakes and topped with some of our new flavor of raw sauerkraut (napa cabbage with some carrots)

Devine! Seriously the best salad I have had in a long time in a few days
As we were baking we nibbled on some of our gluten free vegan cupcakes! So good!
Another weird snack of ours was our homemade kombucha tea with one of raw mint brownie bites!

And finally dinner was our green RED smoothie
Filled with raspberries, bok choy, coconut oil, msm powder, stevia, lime!
Workout:
The past two days we have been doing our new morning workout routine though we have added a few more things. We have been more hip opening yoga poses, jump training activities and lots of core work. And some light weight lifting (a few days a week)!
We are trying to do our workouts in the morning now before our day gets started. We used to do this during college and really liked it but these past few years our workout times have been random (due to opening up our bakery). Now we are realizing it is best for our schedule to get it done first thing in the morning because we know not everyday this is going to happen but we are going to try!
We feel our best when we workout in the morning because it really jump starts our metabolism for the day and helps keep us focused for the day ahead!
I hope to make this morning workout routine a daily ritual
AND Happy Yoga Day to you all!
Check out here for some great information about national yoga day!
And remember to check out Lauren’s great give-away here! I mean even vegans and raw foodies can enjoy an ice-cream maker to make some delicious vegan raw ice cream!

Till next time

Hey friends,
I hope you all get a chance to make the key lime pudding and enjoy it as much as we do
Though you do have to love limes
As you can tell we have updated our blog look. We wanted it to more simple and easy to read. (if you are in google reader you will have to go to our blog to see our new look and let us know what you think) We like it! It is simple just the way we like things – clean and simple. Thanks for the great feedback on twitter.
We received a lovely package in the mail the other day. The great people over at Vega and Sequel Naturals asked us if we would like Brendan’s new book to review it. We said of course!!! We are huge fan of his first book and we are always in the market to learn new things

Yesterday our day started with green smoothie which kept us full till lunch time
Love that!
Lunch was phenomenal! Totally hit the spot for the both of us! We created a new sauce for our lucky gift of health basket customers and had to try it out with kelp noodles! Total success!!!! We think everyone is going to love it

Kelp noodle cheezy heaven!!!!

We mixed in some of our raw fermented veggies into the mix to make a glorious lunch! Great thing about kelp noodles is that the are perfect for those of you who are “pasta” lovers but the best part is that they are extremely low in calories and are so GOOD FOR YOU! And you don’t feel bloated, heavy, tired, or just blah after eating them
compared to white pasta!

So colorful isn’t ?
All mixed together!

Best part about lunch was the ‘new’ cheezy bread we created to wipe the bowl clean

This cheezy bread is gluten free, vegan, tree nut free, and RAW!
Fantastic in our opinion!!!! Maybe we are bias!

Perfect bread dipper!
We also enjoyed water kefir throughout the day and a delicious pre-workout snack before yoga plus our red beauty juice.
A little creation we just threw together – a mix of coconut oil, mesquite, yacon syrup, bee pollen (yes we know not vegan but we love it). Stir and enjoy!

Workout:
1 hour power yoga class at Blue Lotus Yoga Studio.
Must admit we were both pretty nervous for this class though we did a Vinyasa class last week and loved it! The teacher was great and the class kicked our butts. We did lots of poses that we have never really done before that really showed us were we need work
Left the class feeling awake and OPEN! We did mostly heart opening and hip opening poses. Fantastic!
We hope to continue our yoga journey. We are not sure what class or when we will do it again, but we hope we can make it work with our budget
Dinner was a simple coconut kefir shake with cilantro, maca, stevia, carob and sunflower lecithin.
Dessert: two of our raw brownie bites
Not a bad day eh?!?!
Remember to keep everyone in Haiti in your thoughts and prayers and donate or help in anyway that you can.
Red Cross
Numana – food for the starving
Till next time,
Michelle

Good morning friends,
Love the comments about yoga studio vs gym debate. Lori and I have signed up for a power yoga session tonight at one of the new local yoga studios, which we are very excited about
Following up with the hormonal imbalance post we wanted to make sure that everyone is listening to their own individual body’s. We plan to continue to update you all on how our hormonal balance is going and let you know if we find something that works for us. If you have any more questions on again how to heal more naturally please email as twins at pure2raw.com! We be glad to help out in anyway we can.
Seeing all this “get fit” talk going around in the bloggie world as well as on twitter. Lori and I have decided to start a little fitness ritual of our own. Every morning we are going to do one set of push-ups, 2 things for abs, and 2 leg exercises. Plus do a few sun salutations! Trying to do something a little extra of morning to give us a jump start for the day!
Our morning yesterday started with a delicious kale apple smoothie with coconut oil, msm powder, fresh ginger and sunflower lecthin.

Seriously been loving my green smoothie fix in the morning. One of the best ways to start a very busy day
Lunch was a glorious sauerkraut arugula salad with hemp oil, and dulse flakes!

Workout:
45 minute walk outside
Also cleaned out the garage, which has been on the to-do list for a few weeks
Hey better now than never right!
Post-workout smoothie:
Rice protein powder with spirulina, maca, stevia, mesquite, carob powder, romaine, and topped with cacao nibs!
*was one of those shakes that you thought it sounded good but turned out to be just average :/ I really do not like rice protein powder. This was a struggle for me to get down!

But to make up for it we whipped our all time favorite puddings for dinner!
Pure2Raw – Key Lime avocado pudding! Perfect every time

This time we added in some additional coconut oil
So light and creamy! Love our avocado puddings! The perfect way to end a long day!
We have been missing being in the kitchen and creating recipes so we plan to get back to that this week. Hopefully we will be able to share some more great and easy recipes with you all soon
Till next time,
Michelle

Hello luvs,
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We are so happy to see and hear that our story of our battle with hormones and our skin care routine is helping you all out
We wanted to share our story in effort to help someone else who maybe dealing with the same issues!
In case you missed any of the hormone action you can catch up here, here, and here
I wanted to share with you a quick re-cap of our some of eats over these past few days.
Lots of delicious green smoothies, of course

This one out of our new marathon cups – great buy!

Had one kombucha while shopping at the grocery store
Trilogy is one of our favorite flavors though the lemon and ginger are our top 2 favorites
Our ever so favorite meal: raw sauerkraut

We added some MSM – E3 Renew Me into it. This is a new product we have added to our diet due to the MSM in it

Simple yet satisfying salads – becoming our favorite meal!

Starting to get back into juicing a few times a week. By having some fresh juice while down in Orlando made us realize how much we miss our fresh vegetable juices

Beets, carrots, cucumber, celery, burdock root, and ginger
More coconut kefir – this one made into a basil smoothie! Seriously delicious. So thick and creamy and a little sweet from the stevia
YUM!

Some chia pudding with all our favorite fixins like coconut flakes, coconut oil ,and cacao nibs with a dash of stevia drops

Made some roasted vegetables with some coconut oil, rosemary, coriander seeds, and sea salt

Rosemary has to be one of my all time favorite spices to roast veggies with!
What is your go to herb or spice to grab for roasting your veggies?
Now that is just a few of our meals that we have been enjoying over these past few days.
As for our workouts:
Yoga vs. Gym?
We did it! We cancelled our gym membership and started going to some local yoga studios to start really concentrating on our yoga practice
*Now I know some of you are probably like “why is cancelling a gym membership so great?” Well one of our new year goals was to start doing more yoga and therefore could not afford both a gym membership and yoga one. And we decided to go with yoga this time : ) over paying for our gym membership. Yes they do offer yoga classes but it is not the same as actually going to a YOGA studio. Well, at least for us it is not the same! We like the whole experience of going to yoga studios.
So far we have done two different classes at two different studios. Still trying to figure out what studio we like best
Plan to do more classes this week. Also we went for our first run after our marathon on Saturday. It was a nice 30 minute run. It was hard at first but after the first 15 minutes we got back into our running groove. Though must admit it felt weird running again after the race. We are really starting to enjoy yoga and strength training now over the pounding aching body we feel from running!
Our fitness routine is changing a bit this new year. We still plan on running about once a week but trying to focus our yoga, core strength, walking and jump training type activities.
Off to go for a walk.
Till next time,
Lori
