Good Morning friends,
How is everyone doing? Staying warm we hope!
I know we are trying too!
After staying up for almost 24 hours yesterday we left ourselves sleep in this morning. Didn’t wake up till 10am
Nice! Due to our late start in the morning we didn’t get as much work accomplished as we were hoping for.
Though we did manage to get some extra warm clothes for the Disney marathon. Got another pair of clothes, a hoodie, and another jacket. Hopefully that will keep us warm.
We started our morning with a blue-ish green smoothie this morning
This smoothie was filled with blueberries, apple, swiss chard, stevia, fresh ginger, pinch sea salt and coconut oil. Delicious! Certainly got us moving.
Did some work than decided to head to buy a few more outer clothing gear for the race. Ok we are babies sometimes when it comes down to cold weather!
Before heading out we got our coconut yogurt (that we made prior to leaving in NC) for lunch. We mixed in some yacon syrup and maca.

Packed all of us some water though we forget to bring some snacks
Our errands took us longer than expected so by the stop we got to our last stop, which was Whole Foods, we all got some fresh vegetable juice!
Jen and I each got beet and carrot juice… we like to call it Red Beauty. We feel like the Cullens when we drink this

Lori got a cucumber grapefruit juice

Hit the spot for us all. We all talked about juices in the car about in how we all miss them and did do drink them more.
By the time we got back it was dark and getting cold again. But Lori and I wanted to move the legs some and TEST out our new hats and gloves. And to test out how cold we still got! So we got dressed and hit the road.
Can you tell who is who????

Don’t we look gorgeous silly!!!
Before we headed out the door we grabbed two of our chocolate coconut bites for some extra energy.
We did a 30 minute run. Not sure of distance we just went and ran to we both felt good. Came back and made a simple pumpkin milk banana spirulina smoothie with some more maca and coconut oil in it.
Missing the natural light at night…grr! Why is it so hard to take decent pictures at night.

Anyways our dinner for the evening was a wilted romaine salad with avocado and sauerkraut, fermented veggies, topped with dulse flakes, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, red onion and some tahini.
Thats a mouth full.

Made the same salad for the other sis! We all loved it!!! Seriously obsessed with sauerkraut and fermented veggies. Stomach being very happy with them
Time to do more work~
Till next time,
The Twins

Good morning!
Glad to see that everyone is enjoying our green smoothies and the encouragement for our marathon
As we mentioned yesterday how great we felt with our 6 mile run. When we got back we whipped up a simple yet satisfying post workout shake filled with coconut water, little coconut oil, mint, and yacon syrup! (sorry so picture)
About 15 minutes later we were still a tad hungry so we each enjoyed one slice of our swiss chard hemp seed onion flatbread! Perfect!

Snack: water kefir and coconut yogurt topped with fresh pomegranates from the lovely Heather!

Dinner was kelp noodles with roasted veggies (that we were leftovers from a few days ago) as our sauce.
We simply just blended up our veggies in our vita-mix and volia a delicious sauce.

We also added some watercress, raw onions, olive oil and apple cider vinegar to our kelp noodle dish. Again simple and perfect!

And than a little bit later in the evening we got a little hungry again so we made a simple sauerkraut with avocado dish topped with spirulina and lime zest and juice. Again sorry no picture. It might have scared all of you because the spirulina made it a real dark green/black color when all mixed together. So we spared all of you from seeing a not so pretty dish but absolutely delicious!
We are totally loving our raw sauerkraut with just about anything.
On a different note we mentioned on twitter yesterday that we were trying out a Christmas gift from the older sister… new headphones! They are Nike Vapor headphones.
Here is me modeling them for you.

Love how the fit!!!! Way better than our old pairs of headphones.

Michelle wanted in on the Nike Vapor headphone modeling action

The Nike Vapor Headphones
One thing that is so great about these headphone is that they are flexible! The earclips can be adjusted at three different points.
And the cord length can also be adjusted through an extender which is great because I like my cords on the shorter side. My previous earphones had a mile long tremendously long cord which I hated because it always got in the way.
All the pivoting, extending, twisting, and moving parts ensure a good fit for all users.
Twins Overall Product Review: 2 thumbs up!
We feel these are a great buy and addition to anyone’s workout. The sound quality of the Nike Vapors were great. I heard every song loud and clear. Also we loved how they REALLY STAYED IN PLACE!
There was so ear phones falling off the ear action going on like previous headsets have done!
We are very happy with these so far, though we have only used them once. But do plan on wearing them for our marathon this weekend.
Till next time,
The Twins

Hello friends,
Well it is one week till our marathon at Disney! The final countdown is on!
The nerves are kicking in for us both. But we are also excited!
If you plan to be in the Orlando area this weekend let us know and we will try to meet up! Email us at twins at pure2raw.com
We plan on documenting everything we eat over this week before hand to show you all how high raw foodist eat before a marathon.
We also wanted to share with you all a new book that we are currently reading called “The Patient Heal Thyself” by Jordan S. Rubin. This book was given to Michelle and I from Kim our colon therapist. It is amazing how you meet certain people in our life that really help you and Kim is one of those people.
Thanks Kim there are no words to describe how grateful we are that we met you!
Isn’t amazing how certain people come into and out of your lives and you always wonder why you met them? That it takes you awhile to finally realize what that ‘life lesson’ or guidance that person may have taught you? Has that ever happened to you?
We have some big news to announce about this upcoming marathon. As many of you know we typically run marathons with our older sisters. Well since the oldest is pregnant she is no longer available to do this and with Jen, our second oldest sister, has been having some very serious health issues. Therefore, she is not going to be able to run in the marathon this year. Looks like it is going to be the twins alone this time
Going along with our sister having health issues is becoming a very serious concern for Michelle and I both because our sister does not know what is really wrong with her. And after talking with Kim she mentioned this book because she felt that this guy’s story is very similar to what our sister is going through! We are very excited to read it and hopefully get some insight to help our sister! Sorry we can’t go into further detail of our sister’s health issues but once we figure it all out we hope to share more of her story with you all.
Ok back to our marathon preparation.
Our diet is pretty much going to be the same as we typically have been eating. We aim to show you everything that us, raw foodies, eat or drink in order to prepare our bodies for our marathon.
Today we started our day with yet another delicious green smoothie
It made a little bit extra so we had to put some in a smaller glass! This smoothie was filled with apples, swiss chard, cinnamon, cardamom, sea salt, coconut oil, msm powder, and turmeric.
Than our workout for today was our last 6 mile run before the race. Our pre-work out snack was a new creation we made.
We were quite pleased with the final results. Just a few more minor tweaking to the recipe and we will have a great pre-workout snack! YAY! One that is loaded with important nutrients essential for getting great workout results.

Perfect before our run! Gave us both the energy we needed. We both actually felt great during our run which is a first. Because typically always one of us has something hurting like our stomach or back! But not this time. We both actually enjoyed our run! What a great way to feel before our marathon.
We will check back in the morning. Have a great night.
Till next time,
The twins

Happy Friday Friends,
I am glad to see that everyone enjoyed our water kefir lesson yesterday! If there are any more questions just email us twins@pure2raw.com, and we be glad to answer any more questions.
Last nights dinner was a new recipe idea that we thought of last minute. Here is the final results:
Michelle’s on left and Lori’s on right….. so who plates better???
After staring at our dinner plates we realized it just needed something else….
Lori’s plate…. black sesame seeds did the trick

Michelle’s plate. Can you guess what the meal is?
Creamy wilted down spinach with avocado, lime juice, and nutritional yeast!
The beets on the creamy spinach salad are roasted. This is the one ‘cooked’ food we decided to have today. And yes when we cooked food these days it has been at our last meal “dinner”. By eating all raw during the day and come cooked at night gives us the energy we need to perform our best during the day.
Don’t worry we still had room for dessert. I guess our run early in the day got our metabolisms going.
Our dessert cocktail

This little dessert cocktail was rockin!! We used our clean un-cleaned leftover coconut yogurt blender to mix up a little something special. Again we just threw ingredients into the blender and volia…. perfection! *More on the coconut yogurt recipe later.
Twins Dessert Cocktail:
- 2 cups coconut water
- about 1 tbsp carob powder
- 1 packet stevia
- very small drop of mint extract (optional) we just love mint!
- - leftover coconut yogurt (what was left inside from trying to clean out our vita-mix blender) * if had yogurt already made than I would suggest putting about 1-2 tbsp worth of yogurt into blender.
Blend and enjoy!
Our Friday morning started off with some warm lemon water followed by our first cup of our homemade Kombucha. * And we try to recycle as much as we can in our house so you can see our re-used Kombucha glass bottles that we bought in the store. So clever… like no one else has already thought of this before

Not bad we must say
Though it was not has fizzy as the bottled ones in the store :/
Next was finally breakfast…. can you guess what it is?

Yep Green smoothie. This was filled with apples, water, lemon zest and juice, half banana, 2 bunches of watercress. Key is to blend till smooth. Than drink with a must have item— glass straw!
Ok… now time for coconut yogurt making 101 lesson.
How to make coconut yogurt 101:
* this is our second time making it… we have tried a few new things to make it better than the last one and still nut free. If you missed our first time making it you can check it out here. This is Michelle trying to recreate and modify the cashew coconut yogurt she learned at school.
Tools needed: blender, measuring cups, spoons and/or spatula
Ingredients:
- 4 cups coconut meat (it took about 8 coconuts to get this amount of meat)
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1/4 cup lucuma
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp pro-biotic powder (we used powder from opening up capsules)
Place all in blender

This is how we use pill form probiotic in our yogurt….our drugs HAHA

Blend in blender till smooth.

Now time to pour into bowl to let sit overnight and cover lightly with a towel in warm place.

And the next morning here is what you get

Now we just took a few bites of it to see if it has improved since our first attempt…. much better. Love making progress in the kitchen.
What to do with your yogurt?
Use it in smoothies, granola/cereal, or use it as ’sour cream’ or ‘mayo’ in more savory dishes, the choices are endless…Here is what we did
In honor of all the other bloggies who have been enjoying lost of pumpkin creations. We took some roasted pumpkin, pureed it and stirred it with our yogurt.

We stirred in chia seeds and drizzled with yacon syrup (or any favorite sweetener) We like yacon because it is low glycemic and reminds us of molasses. : )
Pure- Simple- And Delicious! Are you drooling yet… I am haha!
Don’t worry about the coconut kefir…. it is almost done fermenting. We will show more of that tomorrow. I know you are all so excited…
But here is what it looks like so far…. we are scared….
It is exploding…yikes this will be interesting. Check back in tomorrow to see how we did.
Till next time,
Lori and Michelle
