Hey everyone
Congrats to the Saints for being Superbowl Champs!!! Michelle was cheering for them as I was for the Colts!!
Anyways we wanted to share want we enjoyed yesterday for the big game. Even some of our friends took some nibbles and approved ; )
First up:
Pure2Raw Kabocha Lime Guacamole

Yes we still had some leftover roasted Kabocha squash that we thought why not add it into our guacamole?? We enjoyed this with some of our Pumpkin Seed Kale Crackers…Perfect match!

It was soooo good!! Creamy, limey, & a little bit of sweetness from the kabocha squash, Heather inspired appetizer!
We are loving this squash…in everything!!
And of course we could not go a day without our fermented foods

Mixed in our guacamole in with kraut &veggies
Next:
Pure2raw Cheezy Pepper Nachos
We poured the cheezy sauce over our Rosemary Crackers.
We just went for the plain cheez and cracker (our chip) match ; ) No fancy toppings for us, sorry we are boring.
And FINALLY
Pure2raw Club Sandwich
And it featured some eggplant bacon, courtesy of Matthew Kenney and we know Mrs. Fitnessista loves some eggplant bacon!!
Oh did we eat this??
Well it was a little messy, but that was okay it was worth it ; ) It was actually kind of weird for us to eat a sandwich…. having a raw sandwich at that! We were eating a sandwich just like everyone else
The bread is some of Pure2raw buckwheat bread (we will add this product soon) Heavenly
YUMMY!
Overall we had lots of good eats that we were willing to share with others. It was great day to eat some special treats!
But wait what about dessert…
Pure2Raw Snickerdoodle Cupcakes
Inspiration from Chocolate Covered Katie snickerdoodle oatmeal.
PERFECT!!!
Seriously our best cupcake yet!! Love the blend of sugar and cinnamon ; )
Our friends even enjoyed some of these
Snickerdoodle cookies. They loved them!! No one could guess they were raw cookies! We are going to have to make more.
In the news:
We are working on adding some new products to our online store in addition we will be announcing later today our Valentine’s Day Specials!!
Check back in because you are going to want to miss it, plus we will be sharing the details about our Valentine’s Giveaway!!!!

Good evening luvs,
We are on a roll with making delicious recipes over here at P2R. Now if you have hemp seeds laying around you really need to make this sauce! It is so light and creamy and a little ‘nutty’! Love it
What have the twins been up to for workouts lately?
Well, we have really been focusing on our yoga. And doing this fantastic DVD! Staying active at home is key especially when you are snowed in
We also have been doing lots of extra hip opening exercises and head stands. Loving it all!
This month we are really trying to do our workouts with a focus. Each day we are going to dedicate our yoga practice or whatever we do for a workout with an intention. Example: today’s practice for me was to be more confident!
Michelle’s intention was: to not care what others think- do her own thing ( I know that might sound selfish but we all need to start doing it)
For a great read about not letting others get to you check out here!
This article really got both of us thinking. Do we worry too much about what others think? YES!
Why? Not sure!
Both of us are not sure why we are always worrying about what others think of us. We try really hard to do just our own thing but it can be difficult. By having this blog has been a great experience for us both. We have meet so many great people and those people we now consider friends
Though by having this blog and reading so many other great blogs it can be very difficult not to compare yourself to others or stay true to who you are!
Does anyone else have this feeling as well?
I thinking having health, fitness, beauty, food blogs are great! I love reading them
though trying to remind myself of who I am and not judge myself can be a challenge. I do admit most of the time reading other blogs can sometimes make me second guess my own choices and why I do things. But than again sometimes it makes me happy with my choices and makes me what to do better.
So in a way all of you are making me a better person by challenging myself to do my best.
Therefore, thanks to all of you for making Michelle and I push ourselves to our limits. Now it is just up to us not to worry about what ‘others’ might think of us no matter what we do. Because we write, eat, exercise, love, etc for ourselves!
Do you feel the same mental challenges with your blog or in your life?
Other Great News:
Due to request for a variety pack of all our pure2raw product offerings we have made some changes to our online store. Please check out for more information. *though more of a sample pack is something we are still working out the details
We are also running a 10% off special on some of our popular items like our rosemary cracker (our version of a Triscuit and Wheat thin) and our swiss chard black sesame chia flatbread (a lovely crispy and flavorful bread).
We forgot to mention some great giveaways going on earlier this morning that are definitely worth checking out.

Laurens glass straws – love these
Kristen’s chia seeds – can’t get enough of these
Till next time,

Yep, Lori and I have 2 older sisters, plus our mom, so five girls! YIKES!! Now another little one is being added : ) We are so happy for our sister and her husband.
And we have briefly talked about her diet on here, and she is not 100% raw nor 100% vegan, although she most of the time her food choices are vegan. For those of you who have asked as about being pregnant and raw/vegan please check out the amazing Kristen who is a great example and is going through the great journey of motherhood. Plus there are many other great raw moms out there….Debbie, Lori, and check out this great list of super moms ; )

We are back in the lovely NC!
We drove back from Orlando,FL yesterday and returned home. Did some unpacking and some work. Sounds like vacation is no longer happening?!?!
Thanks again to everyone for your wonderful and support with our Disney marathon. Still hard to believe it is all over. Congrats to all the other runners who finished as well. It is a great accomplishment what a great way to start the new year!
If you happened to miss any of our marathon race re-cap you can check them out here. and here!
Here is a re-cap of our road trip eats from yesterday’s travels:
Very early morning hemp protein cilantro shake
Sorry for the not so pretty picture is was still dark out!
A little bit later when the sun finally showed up we snacked on some more little raw snack bites
Though we were extremely tired so we had to stop and grab some coffee. Luckily there was a Whole Foods in Jacksonville to save the day!
We love the Allegro coffee at Whole Foods!
This caffeine fixed sure hit the spot for us both
Helped perk us up for the remaining drive!
Though having a green smoothie and our favorite cocktail Kombucha tea helps too

That kept us full of a good bit of the afternoon though near the end of trip we started getting a little hungry again so we grabbed a slice of one of our newest raw onion flatbread creations
Thoughts on new flavor? Glorious! Mouthwatering! The perfect crunch and flavor
Love it when a new recipe turns out!
After unloading the car and getting back to reality we made ourselves a beautiful salad.

Arugula salad with avocado, lemon juice, sea salt, dulse flakes and garlic.
Than we realized our salad was missing something?!?!
Yes that is much better. We threw some raw crackers on top! Perfect!

As you can tell we are obsessed with these little guys! They make the perfect salad toppers in our opinion
But not only was this salad satisfying we were surprised when we saw this sitting at our front door!!!!!
A package from the ever so lovely and sweet Heather!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you Heather. We were so surprised to see this waiting for us!
The package was full of amazing goodies that are Heathers favorites and we can not wait to TRY!!!

Thanks again Heather! You are so sweet and we honored to have received this package
We have some exciting news coming our way to share with you all. We hope to post about it later.
Have a good day.
Till next time,

Hey everyone,
Congrats to all the Disney Half Marathon Runners!!! What a day it was.
Our older sis Jen, and her mother-in-law, Sally, made it!!!
The sis told us our spirulina sports drink helped get her through the race. She felt great despite the cold, rainy weather : )
She was upset it was empty, but no worries we had another one filled for her!
Check out the bottle in her pocket!
She also enjoyed some of the goodies Lori and I will be enjoying tomorrow on our race day, so glad to see they worked!!
We did not sleep much last night, plus got up 3am with the sis to get her all ready. Then laid back down for an hour then it was time to get dressed to go stand in the cold as we cheer them on.
Before we left the hotel we each grabbed two fudge brownie bites. Then after seeing Jen and Sally outside our hotel, which was around mile marker 4.5. We jumped on the monorail and to meet them over at the Grand Floridian.
As we watched Jen and Sally head down the road back to Epcot, we jumped back on monorail and ran up to the room to have ourselves some of raw coconut yogurt with msm and yacon syrup. Sorry no picture we were in a hurry.
Then we headed back on monorail to head to Epcot and watch them cross the finish line.
They made it!!! Smiling : )
Now we are back at hotel getting ready to the blogger lunch!
Although we did grab some food just in case we cannot find something we can eat.
Handful of raw crackers
Slice of onion bread
And about 1/2 cup of unpictured raw sauerkraut with tahini…yes out of the jar!!!
Now sipping on a cup of ginger tea to warm up and then we are heading in a few minutes ; )
Till next time,
The Twins

Good Morning friends,
Well as many people are running in the half marathon this morning like Sabrina, Katy, and Melissa to name just a few. We wanted to wish them all the best of luck in the race
We have been getting questions of why we are eating the foods we are eating before our race and we plan to share that with you all over these next few days.
We started our day yesterday with a few chocolate truffles and treated ourselves to some coffee.
Than we went to the hotel’s gym to do a easy 30 minute workout. We did a mix of walk, sprint, and easy jog. Then we did a little stretching. Felt great!

Back in the room we enjoyed a romaine grapefruit smoothie with some maca, coconut oil, sunflower lecthin, and msm powder. Delicious!!!! It got thick from the coconut oil so it turned out to be more like a pudding!

Again eating out of a jar just for Heather

Seriously one of the best ways to start the day!! Although it turned out to be our lunch.
Next we packed up all our bags again and moved into another hotel! Traveling with us can be crazy sometimes!
As we drove over to the other hotel we snacked on some raw crackers that we made before leaving NC.

This is our home for the next two days. This is the new tower at the Contemporary Resort.

By the time we unloaded all the bags again we got a little hungry. So Michelle whipped up some coconut yogurt with some spirulina, yacon syrup, and chia seeds.

Plus we sipped on some kombucha.

Then it was time to start making all the goodies for this weekend. All of our pre-workout, during workout, and after workout goodies.
Had to buy some more bananas though – the older sis wanted some of our treats!
She wanted energy too and didn’t want to be left out ! Love her!

These little bananas cost us $5.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better be some good bananas!
Dinner – Round One
One jar of sauerkraut with hemp seeds

Round Two
One jar of fermented veggies (daikon, leeks, beets, carrots) topped with dulse flakes and tahini once again!!!!! Heather we are in love!!!!

Dessert was a few more chocolate truffles! YUM! Can’t get enough of these babies. Good thing we made a double batch.
Our older sister gave us a surprise!

Thanks sis YOU ARE THE BEST!!! It was a package full of marathon goodies to help get us get through the race.

Some water, epsom salt, hand warmers, hand bands, chapstick, nose strips, and kleenax plus a few more things!
Well time to go cheer everyone on and than Food Bloggers Lunch with a bunch of great girls. We are very excited to meet everyone!
We will check back in later,
The Twins

Hey luvs
Just wanted to apologize for not checking in yesterday. I never really had the opportunity to sit in front my computer till late last night and it was for only a brief moment. I am going to apologize now too that I may not be around much these next few days, but I will do my best ; ) Lori does not have access to a computer, so just me! Oh and she made it to the mountains of NC!!
Yesterday was a crazy day for me, I had an early flight and then as soon as I landed the lovely city of sunny Fort Myers, FL, my mom and sister took me to a lunch with my dad, my other sister, my grandmother, and some of my dad’s employees and all. It is something we do every year.
I just got literally a bowl of plain lettuce and my mom brought my apple cider vinegar for my dressing ; ) Then I of course brought along some snacks (raw flatbreads, crackers, and chocolate macaroons).
Then I finally made it home, unpacked a little, and then myself a very large green smoothie! It was just glorious!! Especially my mom had the fridge packed with all types of greens and fruit for me ; ) Love it!
My older sister was going to get her hair done my best friend, so I tagged along as a surprise. My friend had no idea was in town so it was perfect. I just love catching up with old friends : ) It was a great time, and I might or might not of had a glass of wine ; O
Last night I went with my dad to watch some basketball. There is a big high school basketball tournament that is hosted at my old high school and some of the top teams come to play. I cannot remember the last time I was back at my old school in addition to watching basketball. It made me want to get on the court and shoot around a little. I could feel the old competitiveness in me coming out ; ) Well the games were great, the semifinals and tonight is the finals. Oh and the tourney is called City of Palms. If you got ESPN, check it out some of the games will be on and hey you might see me….you never know, haha!
Well hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday thus far (sorry I have not checked my google reader in 2 days, but I do plan to catch up with you all soon!)
Till next time,
Michelle

Good morning everyone
Well I must say I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I went to bed with a full tummy, which I hate doing but I just seemed to snack a lot last night. Even though all my goodies last night were raw I still felt quilty eating them. Why?
Does this ever happen to you? You eat good food but still feel guilty for maybe having a little too much?
So you think I would be ready to go and workout this morning after consuming way to much food, but instead I hit snooze 3 times. Huh? I was still feeling a bit full from my consumption of a few raw brownies, raw crackers, raw biscotti, some kale chips, and had a Vega shake. I was just sitting here at my computer doing work and knowing I had all these goodies I kept finding myself grabbing something to eat. Even though I was not actual hungry.
Maybe I didn’t eat too much, just mentally it felt like a lot. I have a hard time sometimes being okay with snacking all day long. Why do I feel more guilty when I have snacks instead of having a meal? I guess it is the idea of having a bite or two of something over a short period of time. humm…I normally like when I do not have meals, just small snacks. So I am not sure why it bothered me so much last night. I think because it was at night and I wasn’t really doing anything but working on the computer.
Anyways it is a new day right?!? I went to the gym with Gina and got my workout in!
My workout: A slow up hill walk
4 minutes at 3.5 incline 4
4 minutes at 3.5 incline 6
4 minutes at 3.6 incline 6
4 minutes at 3.6 incline 8
10 minutes at 3.7 incline 8
10 minutes at 3.7 incline 10
4 minutes at 4.0 incline 11
4 minutes at 4.0 incline 13
1 minute at 3.8 incline 14
1 minute at 3.8 incline 10
3 minutes of cool down
Then I did about 15 minutes of leg (lunges, deadlifts, pilates squats, and what I call ski lunges) and some ab work.
Overall I felt I did good, I won’t say it was a great workout but I feeling good.
My post-workout meal: Hemp protein shake
Time for class…today we are continuing our Asian themed meals….sushi anyone?
Till next time
Michelle
